Yep, lots of stupid stuff gets said during horrid times like Terri's case.

I'd like to think most of the really stupid stuff comes from the leftists(of course it does in reality), but it is so easy sometimes when emotions are high to let things fly that would not normally be said, especially if face to face. The net does make it easy to not follow the decorum we would face to face.

Personally, I have to read the first two chapters of the Epistle of James when he talks about the tongue being like a fire and keep reminding myself to bite hard when the urge strikes to breath out that fire.

The first reading of the Office of Readings for today was very appropriate—I Peter 3:18-4:11—particularly a chunk from the middle and the end.

“Christ suffered in the flesh; therefore arm yourselves with his same mentality. He who has suffered in the flesh has broken with sin. You are not to spend what remains of your earthly life on human desires but on the will of God. . . . The consummation of all is close at hand. Therefore do not be perturbed; remain calm so that you will be able to pray . . . The one who speaks is to deliver God’s message. The one who serves is to do it with the strength provided by God. Thus, in all of you God is to be glorified through Jesus Christ: to him be glory and dominion throughout the ages. Amen.”

Part of what the Pope requested early in the day was the praying of the office—so this is probably one of the texts he heard and has been meditating upon.

(The Office of Readings is a part of the Liturgy of the Hours, which all priests and most religious are required to pray each day and the rest of the faithful are encouraged to pray.)

Yes, the Pope's spirit has been amazing and he has tried to fight through the pneumonia even though it kept coming back. He is not one to give up as we all know.

One can never go wrong meditating on Peter's Epistles. What a marvelous pastor Peter turned out to be as shown in his epistles.

Yes, some were leftists here disguised as Freepers.

Some were the religious folks who took their views to the point where common sense need not apply.
Others who got this wrong were people who had family pass in related ways and were for plugs pulled despite the fact that she was not needing help to live, just food and water to eat. Those people related their times with this completly different situation.

Greer was in Contempt of Congress in fact, but will the Congress have the rocks to do their job and give Greer that Contempt? I think they are spineless personally.

There are a lot of leftists disguised as Christians too. It's one of the Communist planks for seizing power in America, to infiltrate schools and churches.

Others who got this wrong were people who had family pass in related ways and were for plugs pulled despite the fact that she was not needing help to live, just food and water to eat. Those people related their times with this completly different situation.

It's hard to sometimes understand how so many can equate someone who genuinely has a terminal disease not having extraordinary measures taken to delay what is a natural occuring death, with Terri's case of denying her food and water, which is not extraordinary means, but purely natural means.

But then, it's not so hard to understand given the context of postmodernism. Greer was in Contempt of Congress in fact, but will the Congress have the rocks to do their job and give Greer that Contempt? I think they are spineless personally.

If it makes you feel better, I grew up in an old school southern presbyterian environment where when you did something wrong, the neighbor's whooped you, and then you got whooped again at home. LOL

Glad to see you took it in jest as it was meant, all kidding aside..... it's such a beautiful feeling when you completely open your heart and The Lord fills it with his grace, isn't it? To be unified with so many in this world in prayer is.... frankly, just wonderful.... :)

Best of luck on your pregnancy #3! How you will remember these days when you give life next November. Life is amazing. I'm in awe as to how we as FR friends share such glorious moments and such sad moments together. Truly amazing. God Bless Us All!

It's the guilt! When you've been caring for a person who is dying and who died (as my mom did after three years of trying to beat breast cancer), there is a guilt.

The guilt isn't that anything was done wrong or that anything was missed that could have made a difference.
The cause of the guilt is that you go from having no time to yourself to having all the time to yourself and being alive yourself.

Some people keep the memories and the non-responsible guilt of the loss with them and equate everything to their experience or loss despite a little thing called the "FACTS" of a different case.

I don't think there are that many communist infiltrating church, I think that many supposed Christians are in fact humanists who view God through their eyes and bring God down to their level of what is acceptable and Christian in acts and deeds. At that point they worship a false god and not the GOD IMO.
