For a day or so, so they can grieve in private - you just KNOW the media is going to aske them leading questions, guaranteed to enflame them, while their pain and loss is still fresh.
I don't want them to have to go through that, and say things they might regret later...

I don't want them to have to go through that, and say things they might regret later... I agree, but could certainly understand how easily they could be provoked to say something out of pain and anguish.
Best that they stay out of sight for a while.

Okay, I see your thinking. But now is the time when this case is at a pinnacle of attention. The Shindler's anguish on the other hand probably peaked at about the eight-day mark at which time they thought she was reaching a point of no return.
