President making a statement at 11:40.

How do you know that? Cause Michael said so!! /sarcasm

Actually they are being remarkably mature on the one thread I visited. Of 140 or so posts only 4 are snide or joking. Almost all are just R.I.P. Definitely a surprise.

You are correct, unfortunately the way the laws are written she was given judicial review. However, the laws do need to be changed.
First, unless a person has a full written or video taped Living Will clearly stating their wishes in cases like this, no actions should be taken to end their life.
Second, if the spouse has moved on with their life, if they are living in adultery and/or has become engaged to another or has produced children from a relationship AFTER their legal spouse is incapacitated, they should be stripped of any and all say in the care and custody of their spouse. The only exception I can see to this is if a person makes it clear in a living will that they are acceptalbe of their spouse moving on with their lives if they were to become incapacitate and can not speak for themselves.
Third, if there is any conflict of interest, i.e. the lawyer(s) giving to a judge's reelection campaign, if the judge/lawyers are in anyway financially connected to the facility the person is housed in, they must recuse themselves from the case.
And finally, the law needs to be written so that a completely independent Guardian Ad Litem should be appointed to the person to assure their rights are being upheld.
I'm sure others can think of more changes that need to be made.

At a time like this, after all the suffering she has gone through, all the suffering her family has experienced and will experience in the coming days and weeks, it's very hard for me to not wish ill to the person(s) who put this beautiful woman to death. I'm trying very hard not to curse her in-name only husband. I'm having very horrid thoughts about how his last days should be spent. I was brought up Catholic and realize that we are all supposed to turn the other cheek, forgive and forget. But when it comes to murder, I will have a hard time doing that. I pray for her family, that they will be able to live with the thought that their daughter was sentenced to death and that death sanctioned by the courts, because she had become an inconvenience to the man who had at one time promised to love, honor and obey their daughter. I pray they will be able to survive their loss and keep Terri's memory alive for us all. Pray for Terri, pray for the Schindler's and pray for us all.

Why say anything now when she is dead when he was mum the last week of her life?

Americans did nothing when the Branch Davidian compound was burned down, killing so many. Americans did nothing when Elian Gonzales was ripped from his safe haven at gun point. I concur with you, no one should think the American people will do anything about this case either. What a sad day in America how sad and true. Terri is in a better place now, in God's hands. I pray this country wakes up to the creeping evil that is sapping the soul of this nation.
To: queenkathy
You're right.
As for me the handwriting has been on the wall. It's not s surprise. It's a very sad situation. I find it appalling that her husband did not allow them to be there when Terri died.

Terri's law was passed several times at the state and federal level.
Apparently the house of lords could review courts in the UK at the time of our revolution. Anti-Federalist 78-82 talks about this.
We need more checks on the judiciary. Jeb could have imposed 'executive review' (Like Andrew Jackson did)just like the courts made up the bogus extra constitutional 'judicial review' doctrine after the founding of our republic.

No, her father, brother, sister and priest were kicked out of the room by MS 10 minutes prior to her death.
