Thank you, God bless you and yours.

I'm glad I didn't know what was splashed across her picture. What a horrible site to have her picture on.

Oh he's so adorable!Congratulations to Dad and Mom on your new bundle of joy and may the good Lord bless his new little angel.

We are at the hospital (c-section) that morning and I said to the nurse "Have you heard whether Terri is still alive?" . She said "yes". Then I didn't get around to finding out anything more until the next day... Terri died right after my son was born (within 5 minutes). I bet they just couldn't tell, she probable died a few minutes before they said she did. In my heart, my boy was probable born at the same time Terri went to see Jesus...

Savage is all-mouth and all-hotheeadedness. What else could Congress do, when the courts ignored the law that they passed??? Why does savage blame Jeb Bush, instead other governmental bodies (like 11th circuit court) ??

Frankly, neither Congress nor the President could do more.

If there was a place to fix the problem with these arrogant Judges legislatively, it was in the Florida Lege ...

she had three guardian ad litems...two who were contributers to greer's campaign.

Down at the county bar, everyone contributes to everyone, especially in relatively insular places like Pinellas. That just doesn't cut any ice with me. Besides, if I'm Greer, and I'm being asked to sell this lady down the river, I think I'd ask for a bit more than the $400 or whatever he got last time around.

of course...HE NEVER WENT TO VISIT HER

It would be highly unusual if he had. What was he supposed to do, get out a stethoscope and pretend to be a doctor? Of course not - the advocates for each side bring in their evidence, and he evaluates it. This happens thousands of times a day in hundreds of courtrooms across the nation, and nowhere else is is suggested that judges should hunker down and pretend to be something they're not. Hell, David Souter was asking about iPods last week in the Grokster hearing, and he probably doesn't even own one, and never has.

HE FAILED TO APPEAR AT THREE SEPARATE DEPOSITIONS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS ACTIONS AS GUARDIAN, COURT SANCTIONED DEPOSITIONS, FOR WHICH GREER NEVER HELD MICHAEL ACCOUNTABLE FOR.

Contempt is a matter of discretion. Always has been. Presumably you'll do things differently when you're on the bench, but this one still falls squarely within the arena of judge's discretion.

Try again, 2 people directly refuted this.

Not at the time. If we object to Michael's sudden recollections, what possible rational basis can we have for accepting theirs years later? None at all, and I don't do double standards, sorry.

Hi Republic - I totally agree with your entire post. Jay Wolfson is running around LYING about Terri's condition. The man looks a devil, with his beard and black leather jacket. The man is the last guardian that was appointed in October of 2003. He's part of the people that made these hedious laws to kill people.

The rest of your excellent post is right on target!!! You and Floriduh Voter are my favorite posters. I love your CAPS~!!!

I told her that she may suffer from burn out when all the dying, and abused children start getting to her. She goes to her psychology classes to learn how to deal with it.

She loves the thought of helping children. Gods greatest gift she calls them.

"I believe she died about 7:00 am. somewhere around that time."

7:00 am? Are you sure?

I heard on the radio 9:00 am and 9:05 am. Another poster mentioned 9:03 am. Also, I have it on my notes that the Schindlers were kicked out of Terri's room by the scumbag at 8:45 am - that is approximately 15 minutes before Terri died. As Father Pavone stated in his press conference, the Schindlers were escorted out 15 minutes before Terri departed us. So, I think your time is erronous, unless we've all been misinformed.

When you SERVE as the VOICE for a person whose LIFE rests upon your judgement...you HAUL your ass over to see them. And you do it MORE THAN ONCE. Who said anything about him not being qualified to give a physical exam? DUH!

LOTS of JUDGES VISIT under circumstances where they serve as the principle's voice in court (Terri did not have her own attorney). Judge Nepoloitano just stated that he OFTEN VISITED people in this type of circumstance!

Even greer, who is legally blind, for real, is capable of seeing and HEARING Terri respond to her parents. That is not rocket science.

And LOTS OF JUDGES go to see their wards....and TERRI was greers WARD as he stated HE would REPRESENT Terri in the court and that HE would be the FINDER OF FACT!

Oh yeah....

And, er, YOU FAILED to comment on the guardian GREER FIRED because he did NOT LIKE THE REPORT regarding Michael MISTREATING Terri and greer REALLY hated attn Pearse's (guardian ad litem for Terri) REQUESTING a REINSTATEMENT of THERAPYS for Terri.

Why..........THE NERVE OF that guardian ad litem suggesting that! Greer shut THAT DOWN FAST!

I don't believe he was a nurse before the incident ...it became his testimony during the malpractice suit, so he could take care of her "for the rest of his life." I believe he was a restaurant manager at the time of the event.

I'm not sure. It's been a long sad and stressful day around here. I'm in Louisiana, maybe there is a time difference I'm not considering.

"Terrific essay, thanks for posting the exerpt."

Here is a good piece by a lawyer who was born Jewish, but became a Christian evangelist. I just received it in an email:

A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH

"The death of Terri Schiavo has taught us some tough lessons about the matter of life and death and about the proponents on both sides of this issue. Pro-life and pro-choice (right to die) advocates hooked up in a battle for the ages. While they set their feet in cement in this war of good and evil, they succeeded only in cementing the fate of the only powerless person in this entire sordid affair, namely, Terri Schiavo.

Terri, was given a pair of cement shoes and was sent off to wear them in a better place where she would no longer be a "burden on Society" or take up valuable space that others in the "Community" might better utilize according to left wing, right to die zealots.

Terri Schiavo had no say in this matter whatsoever, except by proxy cast by her "loving husband" who fought tirelessly and endlessly on her behalf to grant her alleged special request, i.e., to put and end to Terri's life and to grant her the right to die under the special circumstances which were apparently prevalent. Or were they? This was despite the fact that Terri's wishes were in dispute and were always in doubt ab initio. She had never expressed them in writing and certainly not in any legal document.

Evidently, this "minor" ambiguity in Terri's intentions did not give dear Judge Greer much of a problem or present any moral dilemma for him. He repeatedly ruled from his bench (bully pulpit) that Michael Schiavo spoke for Terri. Judge George Greer took Michael at his word and left Terri without any legal representation of her own, knowing full well that Terri was unable to speak for herself. This effectively left Terri with no power to fight for her own life. Judge Greer had the last word since Terri could not utter a word leaving Terri's husband with the last laugh as they removed Terri's feeding tube, speeding up a fate worse than death...death by starvation and deprivation (dehydration).

This was most assuredly a depraved way to die and contrary to the way it was represented by her husband and his radical "off" Terri supporters who wanted Terri taken off life support at any cost (to save further suffering and expense it must be presumed)! The actions of this coalition for death signaled exactly what it stands for: HYPOCRISY!

While the advocates for the right to die argued that a handicapped person who could not feed herself ought to be put out of her misery and be allowed to die a dignified and "peaceful" death (restful, permanent sleep) this has led to a rude awakening for many of us who are concerned about the right to Life and who must wonder why this same die hard coalition also advocates out of the other side of its mouth, to wit:

SAVE THE WHALE, SAVE THE SNAIL, SAVE THE MANATEE, SAVE THE FLORIDA PANTHER, SAVE THE DOLPHINS, SAVE THE EVERGLADES, SAVE THE ALLIGATOR SAVE THE RAINFOREST, SAVE THE OZONE LAYER, SAVE THE ALASKAN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (from oil exploration), SAVE THE SPOTTED OWL.... while at the same time turning their backs on TERRI SCHIAVO, ONE OF OUR OWN ENDANGERED SPECIES!!!

We The People must ask ourselves, how could the life of a beautiful, living, valuable and viable human being have been allowed to be so easily and hastily snuffed out by a judicial system on a power trip and by judges out of control, without any accountability to the Congress, to the Executive branch of government or to the People?

The answer boils down to moral values and politics. The Activist Judiciary in America today is not concerned about values or weighing the facts and evidence on an honest scale of justice, but rather more and more judges are weighing in with their own biased opinions, colored by their political affiliations and their personal social agendas. The overriding concern of some Judges in this day and age is cow towing to the party line to the detriment of the Law and the American People from which all source of power ought to derive.

The lesson of Terri Schiavo's suffering and sacrifice is that concerned Americans must take back the power usurped by the Judiciary by telling off the judges, by voting them off the courts and by urging the passage of good moral laws which are derived from THE CONSTITUTION which is itself inspired by GOD and the TEN COMMANDMENTS. These are an abomination to those who deny GOD but a blessing from those who founded our nation...ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL INCLUDING TERRI SCHIAVO TO WHOM WE ARE ALL INDEBTED FOR HER TRIALS AND TRIBULATONS.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

Guess what? That's a due process review.

Guess what? That is not a de novo due process review as Congress intended and the decision to deny an injunction admits.

Schiavo v. Schiavo, et al, Order Denying TRO

The Act does not address the traditional requirements for temporary injunctive relief. Accordingly, these standards control whether temporary injunctive relief is warranted, notwithstanding Congress' intent that the federal courts determine de novo the merits of Theresa Schiavo's claimed constitutional deprivations.

"Well! There's lots and lots of money in Hollyweird. Liberals control that industry and most of the publishing world, too. They have a socialist agenda and they push it 24/7. Michael and Felos have hit the jackpot."

Humm. Good point. I don't know why I didn't think of hollyweird. That could be the source of the money.

I guess I just was trying to think more directly to how this could increase business somehow.

Generally, no. If it makes you happy to fault him for not doing what judges generally never do, so be it, but realistically it's totally irrelevant.

Judge Nepoloitano just stated that he OFTEN VISITED people in this type of circumstance!

I bet. Napolitano is a hack.

And, er, YOU FAILED to comment on the guardian GREER FIRED because he did NOT LIKE THE REPORT...

That's because you just made it up. Well, maybe not you, but someone did, and you bought into it. Pearse presented his report, and was discharged, having done his duty - guardian ad litem is not a perpetuity. He was never "fired".
