Terri Schiavo has passed away

Sorry, this statement is false.

Terri Schiavo was sentenced to death and executed in the course of 14 days (Probable the longest execution in human history) by our the governement of The United States.

Do we say about convicted murderers who were executed that they "passed away"?

I would agree that if this is the only time they ever discussed the matter, then yes, this should not be legal grounds to go forward with the removal of the feeding tube. I just find it hard to believe that after many many years of marriage end of life issues were never discussed beyond this.

=== I thought victimology was the playground of the Democrats?

Maybe it's the influence of "former radicals" like Whoreowitz who ripped all the winning pages out of the left's playbook before smuggling us a copy with which we could likewise dumb ourselves down.

Perhaps it's the incessant girlie-boy whining of the "I'm personally opposed, BUT" party who, unlike the victimized Dems, feels forced always to compromise their objective truths on account of someone's "feelings" somehow.

Could it be that folks have noticed that institutionalized official victimhood status will get you billions in aid, instant Hate Crime credibility and your own watchdog office from Big Brother in the State Department or Economic Export/Imports are concerned?

It's possible the likes of Coulter and Whoreowitz have made being bashed and victimized kinda sexy ... pulling stunts and capitalizing on being heckled among the mental pygmies on our college campuses.

Who knows. All I know is that -- now that men, even, are reduced to whining about the feminists the claim have emasculated them, victimhood is in.

Hey ... speaking of feminists ... was there even one member of N.O.W. who spoke out over the way husbands have the right to off their wives at will based on belatedly recalled hearsay?

It would appear women have indeed "come a long way, baby" ... pity they didn't notice they'd hit the button down to being bought and sold and snuffed in the Bargain Basement, not up to smash the Glass Ceiling.

The whole Terri Schiavo case is heavily permeated with a culture of death. Earlier, I was listening to Rush Limbaugh, and he read a long list of names that were tied to Penellas County Judge Greer, that related to a state wide euthanasian movement. If any thing needs to be investigated, this is the case.

Prayers sent for the family and for God to reveal Himself to our nation. Terri may be absent now from her body, but she is now present with the Lord.

Hi, joanie -- thanks for your post.

// Terri’s torment has served to reveal the truth about the hearts of many people. //

That it has, at all levels of gov't and in all branches. And of ordinary people, including those here on FR, some who were willing to hurt for Terri as they did all they could to free her, and on the other hand, some who inexplicably felt free to rip Terri's supporters beyond simple debate of concerns.

"No, the execution was court-ordered, and none of the participants can be sued, as I recall reading from one of the earlier posts about "FL law.""

That is correct.

In order to allow litigants to "freely litigate" pretty much anything you do in the context of litigation (short of perjury or taking so legally-untenable positions as to be silly & a waste of everyone's time) rise and fall with the litigation.

Just for example, a witness cannot be sued for slander/libel for saying something on the witness stand --- even if it turns out to be wrong later.

Judges (like most government officials), similarly, have "judicial immunity" for acts done in their capacity as judges --- even if they are shown to be wrong later.

That's an oversimplification --- and while there are abuses --- the general policy is good because it prevents the never-ending-lawsuit-about-the-last-lawsuut.

It also frees up the average judge/witness (who are typically trying to do the right thing; unlike Judge Greer) to do what they think is correct without constant fear of a lawsuit.

Yes, all that Rush told the audience today was reported here on Free Republic in the summer of 2003. It was old news -- too little, too late.

I call for a Congressional Investigation by the House Judiciary Committee or some other such committee with authority.

On "The Matter of Terri Schiavo".

If enough pressure can be put on the Republicans in the House, then the Democrats cannot stop it from being set up, instituted, and investigative powers. After all, one of their wishes, on the record by recorded vote, was purposely DENIED by another branch of government.

I would hope the Congress get to the complete bottom of this; somebody was on the take, somebody put the fix in. It was corrupt to the core. They need to expose it to legislative sunlight. Somebody has been lying in affadavits. A crime of assault may have occured and was covered up. Congress is all about getting to the bottom of things.

People don't have the right to ask their spouses or family to become murderers. How selfish!

Psalm 23
Prayer for Terri Schiavo

1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for his name's sake.
4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me.
5. Thou preparest a table before me in the
presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup Runneth over.
6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of
the Lord for ever.

God Help and Bless Terri

I just find it hard to believe that after many many years of marriage end of life issues were never discussed beyond this.

What do you consider many years? They were married for five years when Terri suffered cardiac arrest. To me, that isn't that long and they were very young at the time. My ex-husband and I never discussed those issues when we were in our early 20's. It didn't cross either of our minds that we might end up in a situation like that. My second husband and I have discussed it in detail because I'm 38 and he's 41 and we are much more aware of our mortality than we were when we were in our 20's.
