I didn't come on this thread strong for MS. I never once agreed with any of his actions, either. I just think there has been vindictiveness on both sides, and that, my FRiend, is really unfortunate...

I'm not condemning anyone - I'm condemning the actions of those on both sides of this - Michael, AND the Schindlers.

Terri didn't deserve this - she didn't deserve to be starved to deaht, and she certainly didn't deserve to have a vindictive family fued during her final days...

"I believe it could be a message for AMERICA to wake up!"

I believe it may be a little too late for sackcloth and ashes. More like 'wheat and tares' time. Not difficult to see who had a conscience and who didn't. This issue is like the wind blowing away the tares for all to see.

Not certain how America is going to balance out, but at least the mask has been ripped off and there can be no more pretense.

I think you need to tone it down a tad. There is no reason to be angry at me.

I'm sorry, I don't have a lot of patience for foolishness right now. Type without thinking if you choose, but expect no tolerance.

I also had a sad, strange feeling it would end like this, she would 'die' without the company of parents and friends and while Michael, who has been so impatient for her demise and disdainful of visiting her, was in the room. I really hope she wasn't given one last 'dose' of morphine at his request for the pain she wasn't supposed to feel.

Watching the news on how and when her death occurred, after Michael and the doctors were going to do an 'assessment' on her that she died made me immediately come to FR and search for the word 'morphine'. Having been familiar with hospice and from personal experience with how they usher in the death process there is no doubt in my mind that they gave her a dose of morphine that in the last minutes to hasten her death.

No probem.

It's a sad day and we need time to heal too.

And the only one to really suffer for it is Terri.

You don't see anyone else suffering over this? Strange.

Family disputes are always nbitter and full of acrimomy, and this one appears on teh surface to have been worse than most is all I'm saying.

No Chad, you missed my point. Michael Schiavo is not family, he is Terri's spouse in name only. It's not, as you call it, a "family dispute."

Why don't you all just ignore Chad. You're giving him what he wants - attention.

Now that this slow motion murder is complete, I fervently pray that the truth about all guilty parties will come to light. God bless the Schindler family for fighting so valiantly until the end.

If you try to starve a family's daughter, don't be surprised when the family disputes your efforts.

You're acting as if we're talking about a cancer patient that could not overcome it, no matter what kind of treatments are administered.

In this case, G-d's sovereignty does not excuse sinful behavior. End of story. It gives us the comfort in knowing, without a doubt, that He as LORD of all can change things to be in accordance with His revealed will, as found in Scripture.

Sovereignty should never discourage prayer. Sometimes it shows more faith in God to never cease praying with tears in a seemingly impossible situation -- knowing He has the ability to answer -- then to think we've figured out His mind and quit.

Terri deserved advocates who would stand up for her and were willing to protect her God given rights- and the rights provided to her in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Her parents were doing that- her supporters were doing that. The President, Senate and Congress were trying to do that-Jeb Bush was doing that.

All condemnation should be with those who were taking those things away and with those who neglected her and who killed her.

I too have had unfortunate experiences with hospice. Of course that's why the family couldn't be there at the end. You know she got a big done of morphine. Mikey probably gave it to her.

Yes, it's easier to see the 'wheat and tares' and I add even in the "Christian" community. I hope this creates some changes in our laws that avoid situations like this.

I don't know why bad things happen to good people. That's where faith has to kick in. He has promised to right the wrongs. I believe Him.

You know she got a big done of morphine.

Since morphine is a controlled substance, my guess would be that you are right: if she did receive a large dose it should be recorded somewhere I would think. Perhaps one of the freepers in the medical field would know if this is the case?

Well said.
I believe one thing that has come out of this tragedy & evil injustice is that folks are being forced to choose (life or death; good or evil). There is room for debate on many issues, but not on this one when all the facts were known. There was no middle ground; what was done was wrong. Period.

I see there are 397 posts ahead of this one so it might not be read at all.
But in the Lord's infinite mercy, there is always an opportunity for repentance.
My prayer is that He have mercy on the souls of all involved. Terri, her family, Michael, the lawyer, the judge and anyone else.
