The Controleur could not but think that it was rather a clumsy device to bring those two together that necessitated the death of six hundred innocent persons, but not being well versed in the ways of omnipotence he made no remark.

LOL! Well said, yet knowing the other half, ya might as well take the first pot shot.

Perhaps, the murder of Terri may be the last straw with God. Something to grasp.

Go troll on the Schiavo threads. This has nothing to do with that.

uh, yeah, go back to your little world.

(the one where your god loves to kill innocent people because you don't agree with them)

No tsunamis expected they think - now reported from guy on the ground in both Indonesia - no explanation why, but monitoring aftershocks - not completely out of the dark yet.

This is not as bad as last time -

expected all Thai - Sri Lanka - India - Malaysia in the clear - localized Indonesia damage and waves so far -

The kooks aren't exactly in tune with science to begin with.

Besides, they have it wrong. The quakes are a manifestation of Allah's wrath at Indonesian Muslims, for allowing Christians to still live in their midst.

US State Dept. briefing says they are telling folks in the region to head for higher ground.

The problem is the media keeps talking to people in Indonesia who have talked to people in Banda Aceh....that's too far North.....

Yes, this doesn't look good. You have earthquakes,

Worldwide quake activity has been below normal this year (even including this quake.)

I am referring to the scope. Also, remember Florida being hammered by 3 or 4 strait Hurricanes in the same general area last year.

While there is no "last straw" concept identified in scripture, I would agree that we are experiencing labor pains....

Yikes...since this is such a shallow quake- the odds seem good this will produce a tsunami, yes?

I can't find any maps showing the 1833 and 1866 ruptures that aren't part of a PDF....

But the basic problem is that if there was a tsunami it was south of Banda Aceh and North of Padang...

Thai news is reporting tsunami type waves hitting Indonesia. They are focusing on preparations along the Thai coast so news about Indonesia is sketchy here.

Unknown. This quake was further south, so if a tsunami were to occur, it would most likely be directed toward the south, giving more danger to northern Australia and elsewhere in the Indian basin.
