After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
Yes, but, all Reagan and Bush I and Bush II judges in Atlanta also voted to deny Terri a de novo review. It looks like the GOP will kill us too but will first promise to "protect" us, but reinforcements will never arrive.
Well, I think this controversy severely dampened Jeb's presidential ambitions fer 2008--which he has denied--or beyond.
FReegards...MUD
Where did you hear that???
I wondered about that, too. that -- or maybe just wanting to keep lines of communication open, if I want to look on the bright side.
Be still and know that I am God.
That what HE keeps giving me too.
Just don't understand yet. Desperately trying to obey.
I am weak.
It reminds me of the footprints in the sand poem. He is carrying Terri now.
He should be toast on anything with his political future.
Freepers sing this song. It's good right now!!!!!!
God Leads Us Along
In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,
God leads His dear children along;
Where the the water's cool flow bathes the weary one's feet,
God leads His dear children along.
Refrain:
Some thro' the waters, Some thro' the flood,
Some thro' the fire, but all thro' the blood;
Some thro' great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.
Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,
God leads His dear children along;
Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,
God leads His dear children along.
Tho' sorrows befall us and Satan oppose,
God leads His dear children along;
Thro' grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,
God leads His dear children along.
Away from the mire and away from the clay,
God leads His dear children along;
Away up in glory, eternity's day,
God leads His dear children along.
actually, He's got a whole armload! . . . picture us all! . . .
Jeb only wishes it were such a small thing as a " controversy." I believe that his inaction regarding Terri will forever define his public legacy, as will George W. Greer's murder of this innocent one forever define his legacy.
That seems to be the consensus on this thread...MUD
LOL
sad but true
Yes, it is over and I think we all should watch the family this last time on with Sean tonight together. I will be here in tears!! I think she will die tonight or over night. We have all be through this together and it hs been rough. I thought Terri would live. I'm dissapointed in our leaders and what has happend. I am so angry with this Judge Greer, Felos,and HINO! I think at this point are only hope is if HINO puts a stop to this. I don't see that happening. My heart is totally broken! I will never feel like we are free in America. I feel our lives hang on the balance of if we are healthy and/or handicapped, either way we could be put to death for that reason alone. The USA is no longer the USA to me! My country has let me down and I will never forget that as long as I live and my children will know this. We must never let them forget! God have mercy on us all.
11TH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS SCOLDS PRESIDENT BUSH
http://www.tampabaylive.com/stories/2005/03/050330ruling.shtml
"Any further action by our court or the district court would be improper," wrote Judge Stanley F. Birch Jr., who was appointed by former President Bush. "While the members of her family and the members of Congress have acted in a way that is both fervent and sincere, the time has come for dispassionate discharge of duty."
Birch went on to scold President Bush and Congress for their attempts to intervene in the judicial process, by saying: "In resolving the Schiavo controversy, it is my judgment that, despite sincere and altruistic motivation, the legislative and executive branches of our government have acted in a manner demonstrably at odds with our Founding Fathers' blueprint for the governance of a free people -- our Constitution."
Thank you, LadyPilgrim ...
I read it on a Free Republic post in 2003. "The past is prologue."
You could be right...which is too bad becuz Jeb has done some good things, too...MUD
Thank you LadyPilgrim. Singing.
Jeb is done politically. He talked a big game, but shrunk away when the going got tough. He made new enemies and emboldened the old ones.
Know what's really interesting to ponder.
Michael Schiavo, George Greer, George Felos - they think they have won and all of us have lost. They are joyous, euphoric. When in reality, they are the most miserable of men.
