After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.

Yes. The federal court. My understanding, though, is that a different tact has been taken in this petition; that they are doing this based upon the de no vo (sp) angle. Still a surprise that the filing was allowed. How soon they'll address it I haven't heard yet.

I see. There was talk of JJ having possibly convinced two senators to change their votes. Do we have anything more definite on that?
And then last time, if memory serves, the vote was 21-18 against the bill. Does that mean that 2 ARE enoough to change the vote? If I understand correctly, 2 people changing their minds would make it 19-20 FOR the bill. Is that the way it works?

Another point concerning the FL. Legislature, if they are just bringing up the same bill, basically there wouldn't need to be much discussion would there? Just a revote? Any legals care to enlighten us??
I'm not sure about that, Joanna. Perhaps someone else can answer that.
Last I heard JJ was working the phones, but I don't know if he's convinced anyone or not.
We can of course be praying that the Lord turns the hearts of as many who are needed to pass it. :)
Also, it has to be someone who voted against the bill last time to ask for it to be brought up to again for vote. So we can be praying for that also.

That is so true. I asked one uninformed person why Terri is in hospice when she isn't terminal. They looked at me in shock and didn't even realize that...... simple things make people think.
The news said that the 11th circuit court of appeals has not given a time frame. They will consider hearing the petition.
