After Defeats Schiavo Parents Tell Supporters Go Home
AP - Yahoo ^ | March 26, 2005 | Jane Sutton

Bob and Mary Schindler, both practicing Catholics, urged dozens of supporters gathered outside the Florida hospice where Schiavo is being cared for to go home for Easter.

"The family would request that everyone go home, be with your children, hold them close and share every moment you have with them," said Brother Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who is a spiritual adviser to the Schindlers.

It was not clear if the Schindlers had finally abandoned all legal avenues in their fight to restart their 41-year-old daughter's feeding, a cause that embroiled the Florida legislature, the U.S. Congress and President Bush.

What is being done to her IS an injustice, certainly, MCD. I don't think you and I are arguing about it. As an admittedly infallible person, I can say that if I were in Bob Schindler's shoes, I'd have to fight with every fiber of my being to prevent myself from killing my son-in-law, and in all honesty I couldn't say whether I'd succeeed in stopping myself. I have two daughters, and I can only imagine what I would do in his place...

I've had many members of my family die, tragically and violently too. I think that is a commonality that we all share, certainly. Except, I don't think you had a great-grandfather get drunk and fall off a bridge into a deep gorge... ;0)

Anyway, have a good night, and pray - For Terri, for America, and even for Greer and Michael Shiavo. If ever there were men who need to get right with God, it would be those two... :)

Goodness!!

What names?? I looked back (had to make sure) and saw no name calling!!

That implies I said something bad.

Michael is doing every legal, isn't he?

And you would not be referring to his wife.

Sigh.

You are correct.

And we now define murder in different degrees.

It is a royal mess.

Actually you did. You referred to me once as Felos, and once as Michael SHiavo. Both times they were nothing but cheap shots, and in no way do they represent who I am.

But keep it up. You're just exposing yourself for who you are, and it ain't pretty FRiend.

Maybe if there were a little more backbone by the Bushes, we would see....why can't they violate a court order...there are three equal branches of government...who is to say that an executive order [for protective custody] to enforce a subpeona by Congress wouldn't trump a local circuit court judge....

Who died and left the judges as lords and rulers over all...well, yes, the rights of the average American....

But it doesn't have to be....either Bush could state that they were upholding the Constitution. Since both are lame ducks, to protect everyone involved, they could issue pardons both at the state and federal level. The judiciary would have no other recourse except to recommend their impeachments. Impeachments would require a super majority, and with the justification of protection would most likely not be attainable.

But I am sure that it wouldn't happen..

God Bless this country, Terri and HER family!!! May the grace of God provide them strength and comfort! And may the judgement of God be granted to those that deserve it!!

You have one on me with your great-grandfather. I don't know how either of mine died.

I don't know if you understand that some people just have chosen evil. They reject God. And they are intent on harming innocent, caring people. Hitler was one. What they are doing here is the same way it started in Germany. I had prayed many nights that their hearts would be changed. It was not so. Now I pray that Lord will take vengeance for her innocent blood shed.

You are of a younger generation than Bob Shavio I do not believe you would leave the fate of your daughters up to the courts, knowing what you know.
Good night!

Liberal (activist) judges do more harm to their own than they do to conservatives.
Greer is no liberal. It says something about the integrity of our side of the political spectrum that our judges are more independent, willing to let law and their judgement overrule their ideological leanings.

Liberals never let that happen.

Life has no guarantee for safety.

Hasn't this sad episode showed that?

This country cannot hold any guarantees out to anybody because a judge can decree a person should die and on heresay.

How many of the rulings did Greer make violate some right of Terri's?

No ad litem (the first was released by the judge).

The judge was her representative (he elected himself to that position).

The judge was her judge.

The judge was her executioner.

The judge denied nurses statement's from early on

The judge waived annual reports (required inadvance to show the care-plan for the next 12 months), that were due. These are years overdue.

The judge refused to have additional tests run to see if, with current breakthroughs, some help could be given to Terri. (You'd be screaming your brains out if your loved one was denied medical treatments by your HMO.) This medical treatment, by that wasn't done was during the timeframe when it was ORDERED by the court.

Guarantees. You're right- there are none - not legally, not any more.

If all you want is a guarantee you'll have a long haul.

And the cops who fire a gun at the FDLW wouldn't be innocent, would they? They'd be firing at other law enforcement.

The people in the Hospice wouldn't have gones on themselves. I think it's illegal to take guns into a hospital in Florida. If then, they fired, they would be committing a crime.

I'm not a pacifist.

I also don't believe all things are nice and will work out without a price being paid.

And you may label me worse than Michael S.

If your body were in that building instead of Terri's you would get the same response from me.

If I could get you out of there, I'd gladly put up with your name calling.

Now, Michael...he'll give you a [death] guarantee.

I won't.

Peter (maybe it was Paul!) said a prayer like that. It was for someone who had wronged the Christians. I guess this guy made like he was a Christian and then turned on them.

I think the gist of the prayer was he asked the Lord to bless this man in accordance to what he had done to the Christians.

I ask that, too. It usually keeps me from asking for evil things to be done. If a person is lost and gets saved nothing we say or do will convict him/her of thier actions anymore than the Lord.

If a person's saved, God will always chastise the child. For the child's (person's) sake.

There are times, however, when I sin because I get 'in the flesh.'

Thank you, for the reminder.

If you put a quarter (or dollar) in a jar each time you had potty mouth, it might help cut it down.

We did that at work. Come payday a lot of I.O.U.'s had to be cleared out!

"Frankly when I saw her ... she looked beautiful. In all the years I've seen Mrs. Schiavo, I've never seen such a look of peace and beauty upon her. Mrs. Schiavo's death is not imminent by any means," he [Felos] said."

This man just seems to be goading and baiting decent people. I put this man in the same class as I do child abusers, molesters, murderers and pedophiles. He is deserving of the same punishments.

"Thank you, thank you." (Taking a bow and rubbing right hand across mustache trying to look suave!)

But I'll skip the glue this time. I had glue at lunch and my stomach gets queasy if I have it twice in the same day.

Glass of lemonade, anyone?

This is judicial corruption at its finest. Judge Greer has all of the sensitive documents sealed with no accountability. There is no admission form for Terri on record, there has been no annual report and plan for care by the guardian (which is required by state law and is to be reviewed by the court, audited by the local court auditor, and presented and possibly disputed by interested parties [including financial records and care plans]). But it is only state law...

Out of sight, out of mind.....

jpsb,

No need to fret about me being bullied into thinking it's a false analogy. Though they do seem to be really upset about it, don't you think?

People who wish to further that agenda are livid that they couldn't do the dirty deed to Terri in the dark.

That's what a good deal of Greer's rulings are about. He's so tinkled!!

And when people start name calling and using 'pc' things to try to quiet people down...it can only mean that things are coming unravelled.

Michael's hatred to Terri is evident - she didn't die fast enough and he looks bad now.

His hatred is multiplied and aimed at her family. He'd love to hurt the nation but can't get at each of us on a one-on-one basis. Instead, he tries to cut out the heart of each of Terri's family members.

And so many people say, it's 'legal.'

Those are really dangerous people. Because they'll tolerate alot just to avoid action. And say, 'it's legal.'

I know what getting in the flesh feels like. I have had it more than once.

I know that the Lord has heard every prayer for Terri. I know he has seen my tears and knows that this has torn up my stomach.

I pray that He will show His Awesome Power and His Righteous judgment on this evil that has been done.

But what they're doing is perfectly legal.

You place great store in following the courts and what is legal.

They do, too.
