My grandfather's next door neighbor is doing life without parole for killing her husband with insulin.

It may have changed, but when I was working in NY State a prescription was not needed to buy insulin. You did need one to buy syringes.

NY now requires a prescription for insulin

The rule wasn't changed all that long ago, though.

PTBOR WROTE: "My grandfather's next door neighbor is doing life without parole for killing her husband with insulin."

Since I'm sure he "would never have wanted to live like that," maybe he should have his food and water removed! We could sure free up some prison space and give them "their" wish to not have to "live like that"---you know, like with food and water?!!!

You don't anymore. All you have to do in NY is say you are a junkie and you get free, clean syringes.
