Hmmm... let's see. How about the various wars that ravaged Europe for centuries? Chrisitians killing christians over who was worshiping God the right way, or the various inquisitions? Or the various Crusades? Perhaps the various "expeditions" to the new world, where "savages" were killed so that they might be saved etc... Thousands upon thousands upon thousands of innocent killed, all by those purporting to do it in the name of Christ and God...
Sure, we've gotten past that in the past few hundred years, but even Christianity, with it's message of hope and salvation, still has blood on it's hands from the past...
Good point......of course I'm sure there is a logical explanation at hand....*smirk*
Christians killing Christians over who was worshiping God the right wayProvide a specific example I can't read minds.
various inquisitionsunPC thought was a crime then just as it is today. Wrong then wrong today, however at the still the church was the state and it was the state not Christan dogma that should be blamed.
CrusadesWhen one considers that Islam had conquered move of the Christan world one sees the Crusades for what they were. Are war to defend the west from a militant Islam.
"expeditions" to the new worldWell, after the Spanish witnessed thousands of human sacrifices they concluded that perhaps the natives would benefit from receiving the word of God. could be they were correct.
