Hours after a judge ordered that Terri Schiavo was not to be removed from her hospice, a team of state agents were en route to seize her and have her feeding tube reinserted -- but they stopped short when local police told them they would enforce the judge's order, The Herald has learned.
Agents of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement told police in Pinellas Park, the small town where Schiavo lies at Hospice Woodside, on Thursday that they were on the way to take her to a hospital to resume her feeding.
For a brief period, local police, who have officers at the hospice to keep protesters out, prepared for what sources called ``a showdown.''
In the end, the squad from the FDLE and the Department of Children & Families backed down, apparently concerned about confronting local police outside the hospice.
''We told them that unless they had the judge with them when they came, they were not going to get in,'' said a source with the local police.
''The FDLE called to say they were en route to the scene,'' said an official with the city police who requested anonymity. ``When the sheriff's department and our department told them they could not enforce their order, they backed off.''
The incident, known only to a few and related to The Herald by three different sources involved in Thursday's events, underscores the intense emotion and murky legal terrain that the Schiavo case has created. It also shows that agencies answering directly to Gov. Jeb Bush had planned to use a wrinkle in Florida law that would have allowed them to legally get around the judge's order. The exception in the law allows public agencies to freeze a judge's order whenever an agency appeals it.

If I was lying, you would have jumped up and pointed out everyone. But then again, I can give references to the points.
I suggest reading:
-The Light and the Glory
-Anything on Socrates such as:
>>>>The philosopher kings will have to wipe the slate clean, that is, completely erase the present characters of men. The philosopher kings will be political artists who erase one portion of the picture of the state and paint in another until all of the parts resemble the heavenly model of the principle of justice. What about Natural Law? Well, since Natural Law is basically an inherent version of the 10 Commandments, I am right on that point too.
So, why don't you start pointing out my "lies" or retract that BS statement.
I just backed my point up, so unless you are prepared to in the next 10 minutes, then you shouldn't be in this discussion.
"What if they fold like a cheap poker table?"
It wouldn't be anything new, would it?
All I know is to keep contacting them, and if they don't respond, then eventually vote 'em out.
Got any ideas? I'm sure open to suggestions - but I'm not sure I know how to make a bunch of wimps grow a spine.
Maybe I practice a different Christianity than you, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and remind you that it's not YOU who gets to make that call, just in case you forgot...
Don't thank me, I'm just here to help.
It is perfectly called for. Call np's BS about being "grown up" (i.e. being so sophisticated and worldly that the Bible doesn't mean two squats).
I don't hate you. I pity you, however. Deacon Sinkspur is another matter.
If Jeb continues playing democrat-light, then some people -- you, presumably -- will continue to like him.
>>>Oh, I "lack in intelligence", do I? LOL
Well, you're not so bright yourself, champ, but at least I've managed to teach you to spell ad hominem, even if you still don't recognize an ad hominem attack when you use one.
That's progress, I suppose.
Dumbass.<<<
Again, pointing out your lack of intelligence in thought isn't an ad hominem attack when based upon a reasoned arguement, which you didn't do a damn thing to disprove.
Telling you to shut up, isn't ad hominem. Again, you lose.
He's not the president of a religion, he's the president of a nation with no official religion. Man, if we have to clear THAT up around here...
I'm just pointing out the fate of those who think they are too "grownup," too smart for the Word.
So, you hate Deacon Sinkspur, do you? Am I reading that right?
Ya know, Hatred of others isn't a Christian attribute...
ANd you are a Christian? Take a deep breath and do a preview before you post. You'll thank me tomorrow.
Gosh, I'm sorry. I didn't think I was evading anything.
Hey, why don't you get up on your soapbox and tell us all what a Christian is, okay? Because I'm obviously not giving you the anwer you want.
The good news is that you can enlighten everybody, because those of who aren't Christian are completely without a clue.
Chad,
Nice to meet you, but I would appreciate some rational substantive (did I spell that right?) thought in that post.
You've been here all of one month and you already HATE another poster?? hmmmmmm
Well great, we agree that what the state is doing is murder. That is wonderfull progress, now maybe we can do something to stop the state from murdering the helpless.
