My ggggrandfathers shot Redcoats in the Revolution and in 1812. Their sons shot Mexicans in 1836 and 1845. Then yankees. There is a great difference in the law and justice, and I far prefer justice when the law fails to protect us.

I'm not. But I can forsee a new rise in the militias, more civil disobedience, and a bran new anti-establishment movement that can lead to conservative instability if an innocent woman is slowly tortured to death by the 'Almighty Law'.

There is no way of convincing people that this can happen in the USA without some safeguard.

First I reject both your premise that these are the only two choices and your language. Second you don't have to advocate armed insurrection to understand that it can happen. I'm always amused at those who think "because these are modern times" that man will not act as he has always acted when oppressed. They never seem to grasp the idea that Revolution, like everything else in life, always happens in modern times.
