What a sick thought. A woman relies upon her husband to try to help her recover...he tries for years but eventually realizes the futility of it....and then tries to give her peace...
...and you advocate walking away from her and not help her get what she'd have wanted? I suppose he should have taken cash, too?
Sick. Truly sick.
I pray you someday learn to understand love. Even if Mrs. Schiavo has been gone for a while, I would expect a man who loved her and was married to her to still fight for her wishes, even while he's moved on.
"This kind of crap is not good for our side"
Couldn't agree more. We are conservatives, and we're not supposed to let our emotions run away with us.
"That having been said, I think Michael may be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life."
And Judge Greer.
Thank You!
I agree - as we are supposed to be the RIGHT - but - the point has been gotten across - and I do believe Michael, Judge Greer, and Mr. Felos should probably hire body guards.
Just a thought.
Amen - Thank you for saying that. I wanted to, but I do realize emotions have to be kept under control, if for no other reason than keeping the finder pointing at our side to a minimum. BUT....
I firmly stand on making things right when you have been wronged. Terri has not even had the CHANCE of Justice - the laws have completely failed her.
Looking forward to the march on April 7th. OUR CHANCE TO SPEAK!!!!! JK
Ya'll are too funny! I never really thought about it that way!
God works in mysterious ways - and Michael will get his at some point in time. We may not have the pleasure of seeing it - but God will! JK
You're correct about the lack of respect for other FReepers. I learned about this place on the Sean Hannity show. I lurked for a while before signing up. Between the immigration threads and the Terri threads, I almost don't want to be here.
Those of us who are critical of the incitement realize that during the past few weeks, thousands of Mexicans have infiltrated America. The genocide in Darfur continues nearly unopposed, with thousands and thousands of real, viable people losing once hopeful lives. Nuclear proliferation continues unabated. Trade with China continues to stoke their strategic might. More good American jobs were outsourced or eliminated. And more American babies were aborted because of the deep hopelessness of their parents.
Is Terri's case important? Maybe not as much as the thousands of abortions that have happened in the past weeks, and even more so: not as much as why those abortions happened? So ask yourself: why does the conservative establishment want us to think more about Terri than illegal immigraiton, economic stagnation, and the deep pessimisim growing at the center of our nation?
I have to argue that it's because they want you to think about something else besides the issues that are rapidly moving beyond the point of return, that even in a matter of weeks or months might be irrevocably changed. Consider the arms sales to Pakistan, Egypt, and other questionable allies the Bush administration is announcing. Consider the very real impact of Congress opening up the country for 45,000 more H1B visas. American lives, family economic independence, and hopefulness are at stake every day, and no one is doing anything to reverse the downward trend.
So Terri can attract our attention and hold it, which is admirable and justifiable. But when there's talk of undermining the law here because people are unhappy with conclusions made by certain judges, yes -- some Freepers will be critical. Judges are appointed by elected leaders. Whom have we elected? We are to blame for their decisions, as this is a democratic system. But more than that, we are to blame for ignoring the loss of our grip on fundamental issues of national security such as where our F16 fighters go, who can enter our nation and when, and our own sense of economic optimism. Restore all those things, and American life will once again thrive. Ignore them, let them continue to slide, and life here will only get worse.
Terri has nothing to do with that, and her situation has much to do with distracting us from improving the situation for real, live human beings whose mothers are too pessimistic to bring them into the world.
Well, it does happen now and then, although this kind of intensity is unusual.
I'm definitely one of your fans, Tonk! And I respect anyone who wants to keep Terri alive. I also happen to know that this issue doesn't weaken your own commitment to secure borders, keeping China in its place, building America's economic revival, and strict control over our arms sales.
There's an old Southern gospel song with the (approximate) title, "Satan's Gathering Firewood for a Hot Winter's Night."
Plus, it makes right wing Christians look dangerous. A win-win for the left-wing media, and the pro-euthanasia crowd...
What is he supposed to do?
Looking over the posts and absorbing the media barrage about the death of this innocent woman has many of us on edge, and I think the DUmmies see a chance to make their "move" and destroy FR.
They are planting dissent under the guise of caring about Terri "more" than others, when in reality the DUmmies care more about "Freeing Mumia" than saving Terri.
The TROLLS are planting dissent about Jeb Bush, who has done as much within the law as possible, and the President mobilized Congress in an attempt to get these Judges to actually be just rather than "Grim Reapers".
Any reasonable person sees that there are questions, there is enough "reasonable doubt" for a condemned man to get a stay of execution, but she hasn;t been tried, convicted and condemned by a jury of her peers, but betrayed and condemned by the man she loves.
Acting out violently will accomplish nothing, it will merely allow the left to point at US and say: "SEE! They ARE Fascists! They have NO respect for the LAW!"
Yes, I know, BLOODY HIPPOCRITES, all of them.
But there must be a voice of reason in this case, no, VOICES of Reason here because it is starting to get out of hand with the death threats and "contracts", jsut as the bombs and snipings hurt the "Right to Life" Movement.
Pray for Terri, FReepers, pray for her family and those of you with stronger Christian ethics than I have, can pray for the creep who's murdering her, because it seems like prayer is all we have left.
