It's best to "stay in" the GOP and vote in the primaries. Then if a bad choice is on the general election ballot, sit out that particular contest. If you vacate your access to the party primary, you reduce your options. You just need to start skipping certain races on the ballot to get the GOP's attention. I can actually see a possibility, however, where there is no Republican nominee for President who will be acceptable in 2008.
OH MY GOSH....................
At least give the SHINDLER's ONE CHANCE at justice the courts denied them for TWELVE LONG YEARS>
Imagine not only having a dtr disabled and under control of a monster,,,,,,,, but having her ABUSED and NEGLECTED by the same and be POWERLESS TO STOP IT!
I can't do that. I have to put principle first before party. Putting party first means one's more interested in power; and willing to compromise principle and morality for it. Such a bright, sharp line between good and evil has been drawn by this issue, that that type of compromise is no longer an option.
If those who voted for Carter or Ford only because they thought Anderson would lose had gone ahead and voted for Anderson, he could have won or come close to it. I know I'll be told I'm "throwing my vote away" on someone who can't win. I don't care, because I won't throw my conscience away, period.
