That is nice to hear. We have had our disagreements in the past but you show lots of character. Sorry for any old disagreements between us. I know I said things I shouldn't have.

Not sure if this has been asked before, and not really sure how to ask it. But why can't Florida invalidate the marrage? The marriage is irrelevant. The relevant question is whether Terri would choose to stop food and water intake, if she was able to make the decision. The court has ruled (wrongly, IMO), based on testimonial evidence, that these are Terri's wishes. He husband testified, but so did at least 4 others. Her husband, Michael, Michael's brother, Scott, and Scott's wife all testified that Terri had seen her grandmother hooked up to machinery, dying, and said "I don't want to die like that." Terri's mother, and siblings, and IIRC, at least one friend testified that they never heard Terri express a wish for DNR, and in fact, had on occasion expressed outrage that Karen Ann Quinlan was forced off a respirator. The SChiavo's testimony was ruled "clear and convincing," and the results are playing out on a national stage.

Try to remember back to high school civics class. Checks and Balances. Remember? Where is the executive, I ask you, acting as a check on the judiciary in A CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER? How simple does it have to be for you people? We're not talking about an order to have the treasury print you a million dollars. We're not talking about an executive suspending the first amendment. We're talking about an executive ALLOWING TWO PARENTS TO FEED THEIR DAUGHTER!
The remedial moral and constitutional skills of some Freepers are beyond belief.

I fear Jeb Bush fell prey to a really bad case of hummin' gator when he held that news conference yesterday. He certainly made it sound like he had been assured he had the right, in fact the obligation, to act and that he intended to do just that. Then nothing. Hummin'-gator is when you let your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird ass.

I don't have tv here. What is going on...are we waiting for the Federal Court Decision to be made? I heard on the radio that they called in the nurse who treated Terri to testify in Federal Court. Has anyone else heard this? Best bet is to follow the thread. I usually post 10-120 minutes behind the curve ;-)

some of the good folks, especially self-proclaimed "Christians" on these forums might remember their leader's comment "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's ...."
Jeb Bush was elected to uphold the Constitution and the laws of Florida. Not the laws of Florida that he likes. He attempted in every way possible within the law to save Terri, and is to this moment working for ways to save her ... those who judge him should not do so, lest they be judged.

The newly elected President of the United States
gets ready to take his/her oath of office.
He/She puts a hand on a "living will"
God was left behind, Easter Week 2005
As was an innocent victim who
was starved and denied drink to death.
IF Terri ONLY had been a criminal she would have been saved.
