As far as this one states, Governor Bush is within his authority to take charge but, like Gov. Romney of Mass. last year, he stands around wringing his hands. This is a splendid opportunity to start breaking the hold of the blackrobes on our country but no politco is willing to take a stand and force a showdown. Where's Andrew Jackson when you need him?

If this woman dies, Jeb need not waste any time or money running for President. He won't have my vote.

Anne Coulter pointed out that when segregation was ended
a governor had no problem brigning out the Guard and the President had no problem sending in the regular Army to get the job done..

Sometimes for the good of the one such things needs be done

"Greer rebuked the agency, ordering it not to attempt to enforce the state law."

Greer has no legal authority to do this.

He is circumventing the law to fulfill his judicial fiat.

He should be removed Immediately from the bench!

Since when are law enforcement agencies under the judicial branch? This is the clearest violation of the separation of powers that I have seen in a long time. If this goes uncontested, we will truly have a tyranny of the courts.
Jeb better do something or we will all become slaves of the courts.

Where's Andrew Jackson when you need him?

In his grave laughing hysterically as the Bushes are criticized. After all, he is credited as being the founder of the modern Democrat Party!

Jeb Bush is a coward. I would encourage the people of Florida to impeach him for not obeying the law of the Constitution of Florida, not to mention the Constitution of the United States.

Greer and Jeb Bush have a long standing disagreement with each other over this case. Greer's ego has been hanging out in the wind for a while now.

The department shall, within 24 hours after providing or arranging for emergency removal of the vulnerable adult, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, petition the court for an order authorizing emergency protective services.

If they take custody of her at one minute after minute tonight, they won't need to petition the court until Monday morning. If they take custody now, they will need to petition the court tomorrow afternoon.

I agree. You need to read Ann Coulter's excellent editorial of yesterday.

I just sent this e-mail to Jeb Bush at jeb.bush@myflorida.com:

Dear Governor Bush,

I wish that you would use your executive authority (with control over all the enforcement state agencies) to take Terri Schiavo into protective custody. Make believe you are Janet Reno and display a micron of the political will that she demonstrated in storming the Gonzalez home, taking Elian and sending him back to a Communist Country.

It is long past the time when concern for the pimps of the legal industry should take a back seat to a position of supporting life! Also Judge MENGELE Greer should be impeached!

As one Florida state Senator said this morning (I don't remember his name) when asked by a CNN mouth piece whether his position was trampling on the rights of Terri Schiavo, replied "If I am wrong, then Terri will live a few more years, but if I am correct, then you will have executed a person who has not committed a crime."

Please show some guts and take her into protective custody!

Why not get the same storm troopers that "rescued" Elian Gonzalez to move in and rescue Terri? They could spirit her out of Florida and hold her safely in a special compound in Maryland.

You people!

You are really losing faith when you turn against the leaders who are basically on your own side. That is lousy. Some of you are sometimes, I think, more interested in winning than seeing justice done.

Here is what I would do as governor: Declare Terri's room a crime scene, send in police, surround it with those yellow tapes, start reviving Terri as part of the evidence (of her husband's attempt to kill her a few years ago, and possibly at the time of the original injury). Then build a case against Michael, and eventually offer to plea-bargain with him: the state will not prosecute if he relinquishes custody and grants Terri a divorce. Case settled, life saved.

All these desperation appeals in the courts are futile, and just set precidents which will be damaging to your cause in future cases. The cause is life, and in this case, justice (for it is very possible that a crime was committed, and possibly more than once).

Where are all these people who expect stem-cell research to bring miracle cures? Well, we keep this woman alive awaiting the results of stem-cell research to repair her damaged brain. We don't have to prove that she will ever get better with conventional therapy.

If the worst happens, it will not be because good people did nothing. It will be because the courts could not see right, and are supported apparently by a majority in the country. I will feel more sorry for the country then, than for Terri. But DO NOT turn against your friends because they are not supermen. Remember who the real enemy is.

I had an epiphany on this case.

What if these Florida judges are acting the way they are acting because of the slap in the face they took during the 2000 Presidential Elections?
