The life and death tug-of-war over Terri Schiavo is a 12-year-old court battle that remained under the radar of most major news outlets until recently. WorldNetDaily was among the first national news organizations to cover the story back when it primarily occupied the headlines of the local press in Southwest Florida, in November 2002.
As the rest of the news world works to catch up on this complex, multifaceted, precedent-setting case, readers have asked WND about errors and glaring omissions in the current widespread media coverage....
In view of this, WorldNetDaily has decided to mine our extensive archives to compile a comprehensive analysis of the Terri Schiavo story.

RE: Terry Schiavo bone scan showing trauma:
Larry King Live Aired October 27, 2003 - 21:00 ET
http://www.sweetliberty.org/bulletins/terri/lkl1.htm
KING: Let's go back. What happened, Michael, on February 25, 1990?
SCHIAVO: I work late at night. I used to run -- manage restaurants. I came home around 2:00 in the morning, climbed into bed.
KING: No children?
SCHIAVO: No children. Terri and I were trying to have children. We were back and forth to a doctor for a year or so, trying to find out why we weren't getting pregnant.
Climbed into bed. Terri said good night to me. Gave me a kiss. She woke up, said good night, gave me a kiss. I gave her a kiss back. I'd say, about 4:30 in the morning, I was, for some reason, getting out of bed and I heard a thud in the hall. I race out there and Terri was laying in the hall. I went down to get her. I thought, Well, maybe she just tripped or whatever. I rolled her over and she was lifeless. And it almost seems like she had this last breath.
So I held her in my arms, and I'm trying to shake her up. I ran over, I called 911. Her brother happened to live in the same complex as we did. I called him. I went back to Terri. And from there, six, seven minutes later, the paramedics...
KING: And the way she is now is the way she was that night?
SCHIAVO: That night she was totally unconscious.
Thanks. Missed your post while I was writing mine. We were thinking alike.
Perfect! Been praying the same. The effective prayers of the righteous availeth much. Posting & praying. Praying & posting.

Alan Keyes Alan Keyes WND Exclusive Commentary Why Jeb Bush has the power to act now
Posted: March 24, 2005
9:00 a.m. Eastern
At this moment, former Reagan administration official and Republican presidential candidate Alan Keyes is in Florida's capital trying to persuade Gov. Jeb Bush to intervene to save Terri Schiavo's life. In this in-depth essay, Keyes explains why "Terri Schiavo's survival depends on Gov. Bush's faithful execution of [his] responsibility, and the survival of American self-government on the willingness of all those in a like position to faithfully execute the duties of their high office."

good to have that info out there, if even more than once, so the lurkers will see it.
And from William J. Bennett & Brian T. Kennedy on National Review (thanks to SpyCatcher)
The "auxiliary precautions" of Florida government in this case the Florida supreme court have failed Terri Schiavo. It is time, therefore, for Governor Bush to execute the law and protect her rights, and, in turn, he should take responsibility for his actions. Using the state police powers, Governor Bush can order the feeding tube reinserted. His defense will be that he and a majority of the Florida legislature believe the Florida Constitution requires nothing less. Some will argue that Governor Bush will be violating the law. We think he will not be violating the law, but if he is judged to have done so, it will be in the tradition of Martin Luther King, Jr., who answered to a higher law than a judge's opinion. In so doing, King showed respect for the man-made law by willingly going to jail (on a Good Friday); Governor Bush may have to face impeachment because of his decision.

During a deposition of Sept. 27, 1999, attorney Pamela Campbell who represented Terri's parents asked Schiavo, "Have you considered turning the guardianship over to [Robert and Mary] Schindler?" and he answered, "No, I have not."
Asked why he wouldn't, Schiavo answered, "Basically, I don't want to do it."
When Campbell pressed him to be more specific, Schiavo declared, "Because they put me through pretty much hell the last few years. ... Just their attitude towards me because of the litigations. There is no other reason. I'm Terri's husband and I will remain guardian."
Scott Peterson without the "charm."

Placemarker bump.
Criminal Investigation of Michael Schiavo:
1) Nurses testimony: Heidi Law, Carla Sauer-Iyer, Carolyn Johnson have been ignored and dismissed without hearing; each testified that Michael was abusive to Terri and may have attempted to kill her by insulin injection and attempts to induce pneumonia by turning the thermostat in her room to 64 degrees.
2) Michael Baden, top forensic pathologist in country and interviewed on Fox News National Television broadcast October 25, 2003 on Terris bone scan and injuries states that:
a) Terris injuries are not consistent with a heart attack; no cardiac evidence to support it
b) Extremely rare for potassium imbalance on woman her age and in her good health
c) Injuries are consistent with severe trauma possibly caused by a beating
d) The injuries in medical records warrant an immediate investigation
3) Dr. William Hammesfahr, Nobel prize nominee and neurologist testified that Terris neck injuries are consistent with only one type of injury: that of strangulation.
4) Terris doctor, Dr. Gambone resigned; he had previously testified Terri would die within a few days of starvation/dehydration. Terri has an obvious will to live.
5) Michael has enlisted the services of a new doctor, Stanton Tripodis, who has 5 malpractice suits against him. Clearly, Michael is attempting to provide sub-standard care for his wife.
Case no. 97007946C1 filed 11-25-97
Case no. 94003739C1 filed 6-27-94
Case no. 95000873C1 filed 2-14-95
Case no. 96001434C1 filed 3-6-96
Case no. 98002289C1 filed 4-7-98
6) Michael is committing adultery by living with another woman who has already born one child with another on the way, thereby creating an obvious conflict of interest as guardian.
7) Michael has committed both perjury (2 counts) and insurance fraud by promising to provide care and therapy for his wife in exchange for the court award of 1.2 million dollars in 1993. No care has ever been provided to Terri.
8) Michael Schiavo has also prevented Terri from undergoing a barium swallow test, a procedure necessary to ascertain the consistency of foods able to be taken by mouth.
9) Co-conspirator George J. Felos combined and conspired with Michael Schiavo to arrange for Terri's "free" stay at Hospice Woodside as part of an "exit protocol" designed to advance Felos' self-perceived messianic mission of "helping" incapacitated people to die by categorizing them as "terminal," warehousing them, and depriving them of therapy and rehabilitation services. (Attorney Felos is Director of Florida Right to Die and has testified that he can ascertain a persons desire to die by looking into their eyes and letting their spirit speak directly to him) (allegations also that George J. Felos has a book coming out on Terr1..Posted by: Rohana | March 17, 2005 01:37 PM UNDER COMMENTS

10) Investigate Insurance company established in Jan 2001 at the home of Michael Schiavo and his girlfriend/fiancee Jody Centonze. (Jerger and Centonze Insurnace Agency Inc.) Michael is listed on the Board of Directors for the corporation. Note: Insurance is deliberately misspelled in the State of Florida Corporate filing, possibly to avoid investigation.
11) Michael continues to deny Terri the right to receive Holy Communion as part of her Catholic and civil right.
I ask: Should Michael Schiavo be arrested on conspiracy to murder and have his guardianship immediately revoked? At least his guardianship removed under conflict of interest on allegations documented suggesting wrongdoing. Of course under the law, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.(/sarcasm)
Keep the faxes and emails burning..they are now checking into his background (via FoxNews) as we have been pushing for them to do so...in reference to his "fit" guardianship role.
"Clear and convincing evidence" that Terri DOESN'T want to die (Oct 14, 2003) http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=35077:
1) Terri Schindler-Schiavo does not want to die. She would like to go home. And she tried to convey this to her father in no uncertain terms by sitting bolt upright and trying to get out of her chair when told she might be killed, her family has revealed.
The stunning news was released at noon Eastern today by Terri's father, Robert Schindler, at the 'round-the-clock vigil outside the Woodside Hospice facility in Pinellas Park, Fla., where his daughter's court-ordered death by starvation is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 2 p.m. Eastern. At that time, her husband and legal guardian Michael Schiavo is scheduled to give the order to disconnect the 39-year-old brain-disabled woman's feeding tube that has provided her with sustenance for the past 13 years.
In an interview a few hours earlier, Schindler described the incident to WorldNetDaily. He said he was holding a cell phone to Terri's ear as she listened intently to the speaker, propped in her jerry-chair at about a 30-degree angle. Suddenly she sat up straight and tried to get out of her chair, despite her weak legs and muscles that were slack from lack of exercise.
His daughter's response stunned Schindler, who grabbed the phone and asked, "My God, what did you tell her?"
The speaker said he had warned, "If you don't get up and get out of there, you're going to die there."
2) Testimony under oath by girlfriend Diane Meyer: A girlfriend of Terri's concurred. In court testimony, Diane Meyer shared her recollection of a conversation she had with Terri after watching the 1982 television movie about Karen Ann Quinlan. Meyer said Terri told her she did not agree with the well-known decision by Quinlan's parents to take their comatose daughter off her respirator. Meyer remembers Terri wondering aloud how doctors and lawyers could possibly know what Quinlan was feeling or what she would want.
"Where there's life," Meyer recalled Terri saying, according to the The Buffalo News, "there's hope." http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43463
3) Mar 18 2005 --- Schindler family attorney Barbara Weller similarly reported the severely brain-injured woman cried and yelled out that she wants to live after being told her life-sustaining feeding tube was about to be removed by court order.
Weller essentially told Terri Schiavo, "You had better say you want to live or they will kill you. Just say you want to live."
Terri Schiavo responded with a drawn out, "IIIIII," then screamed out "waaaaaaaa" so loudly that a police officer stationed outside the room came in. The officer then ordered Weller removed from the room, according to prominent pro-life activist Randall Terry.
The event was witnessed by Vitadamo and her husband, Michael.
Clear and convincing evidence....
