Thank you, vg. It was a painful loss, but the Lord brought blessing out of it. Heaven suddenly became much more real, and I found a new understanding of the intensity of God's love for us, that He would voluntarily allow His own Son to die as our sacrifice. (He also blessed us with three more sons over the following three years)
The pain Terri's parents must be feeling, though, has got to be agonizing in a different way because it's the will of man trying to take their daughter's life. I cannot imagine all that they have suffered over the years.
I too have lost a son. 16 yr. old quad, died at 22 yrs. old.
He was hospitalized for 1 year, and we visited him every single day. Then we took him home.
He was tube fed for 2 years, then when he lost his kidneys we dialysed him at home.
If anyone tried to keep me away from him or my husband, they would have to have killed us first.
