Why hasn't the DCF been involved before now? I didn't think they were involved the last time the feeding tube was removed for six days, were they>
I may have misunderstood, but from what I have heard on Sean Hannity's radio show, I think DCF got a call from a Mayo Clinic doctor (a "renowned" neurologist), who has examined films, records of Terri and thinks she is in a state of "minimal consciousness", rather than a "persistent or permanent vegetative state".
Another neurologist has said that Terri was possibly misdiagnosed.
But .. FOX just said some judge has already issued an order STOPPING THE DCF FROM TAKING HER.
So .. they should have just taken her instead of telling the public what they were going to do - when will these people figure this out - you DON'T TELL YOUR ENEMY WHAT YOU'RE PLANNING TO DO. SURPRISE IS THE ULTIMATE!!
A question like that was asked at the news conference.
A DCF official answered that DCF has to respond to a specific complaint -- they don't just go around looking for problems.
I believe DCF received a "hotline" complaint sometime in the last couple of months.
I may be wrong, since I couldn't hear the entire press conference too well (due to that idiot Shep Smith's butting in with BREAKING NEWS); but I heard someone say later that the complaint was made by Mayo Clinic neurologist Dr. William Cheshire (the doctor who has now stated in a sworn affidavit that Terris is NOT in PVS, but is rather "minimally conscious").
That's the $1.7 million question.
