State officials say they are considering removing Terri Schiavo from hospice, by force if necessary, despite numerous court orders upholding the removal of the artificial nutrition tube that has kept her alive for 15 years.
Lucy Hadl, secretary of the Department of Children and Families, said Wednesday morning that her staff is relying on a state law that gives the department the authority to intervene on behalf of a vulnerable adult who is 'suffering from abuse or neglect that presents a risk of death or serious physical injury.'
Hadl said that the DCF would have to file a petition in order to remove Schiavo, but that 'it doesn't mean we'd have to have judicial approval in advance of taking the action if we believed it met the threshold for doing it.'
Hadl said that seven years of court rulings backing Schiavo's husband Michael, in his contention that Terri Schiavo did not wish to be kept alive artificially would not stop the DCF from taking action.
'We're not compelled to look at prior judicial proceedings,' Hadl said.
What we are compelled to look at is the presenting circumstances and any allegiations of abuse and neglect that we have recieved. So we have to deal with those and fufill out statutory responsibility.'

By all accounts Terri hasn't had teeth cleaning for SOME YEARS. .....should be suifficient to get started....
And the $14 mill the state wants back from the Hospice.....
Sad.
Pls add to Breaking News.
It worked at Waco.
Murdering and torturing an innocent and very much alive human being is the worst thing that anyone can do. The fact that American courts are sponsoring this action shows how much these leftist anti-American activist judges have infested our court system. Life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. The liberal judges are trying to deny Terri LIFE - her most basic, most important right.
(d) This is what they were directed to say by the governor's office.
here's another one, more direct

I just phoned and spoke to a nice man who is "passing my comments along". Everybody phone NOW! Show them that to polls are bogus.
That was my favorite part. You go, girl!!
The court violated Congress' subpoena orders and could be held in contempt of Congress if Congress so wished.
Not sure.. but they are well known "RINOS"... sad to say..
I agree. Talk is cheap. Especially over the internet.
And don't DARE play the sympathy card with me. I've been in favor of Terri along at cost. SO HAVE THE REPUBLICANS. They are rsking everything for her, and it DISGUSTS me to have that returned with ingratitude. Without Jeb Bush this woman would have been DEAD a few years ago. He has risked more, done more, and prayed more over this woman for a longer period of time than almost anyone.
You can demand action as you will, but the Lord will not condemn this man and neither will I. I will not desert the Republicans and I will not desrt Jeb, just as I will not desert terri.
As long as you don't mind prison...
If there is new evidence that Terri Schiavo has been misdiagnosed, or has been physically abused before or during her stay in the hospice, and if there are affidavits on file attesting to these matters, then I think Governor Bush is obligated to have her taken into physical protective custody.
Touche! Let's hope he just tries it!! (sinister laugh...)
Actually, you just don't know how those courts might handle it!

That's exactly my point. I have no respect for the mere laws of man, and yet I'd venture to guess that I'm one of the most law-abiding citizens you'll ever meet.
I could show you my unblemished driving record (not even so much as a speeding ticket in 18 years) to prove it.
Judge Greer should be arrested.
What part of the order forbids anyone other than Michael Schiavo from giving Terri fluids?
