State officials say they are considering removing Terri Schiavo from hospice, by force if necessary, despite numerous court orders upholding the removal of the artificial nutrition tube that has kept her alive for 15 years.
Lucy Hadl, secretary of the Department of Children and Families, said Wednesday morning that her staff is relying on a state law that gives the department the authority to intervene on behalf of a vulnerable adult who is 'suffering from abuse or neglect that presents a risk of death or serious physical injury.'
Hadl said that the DCF would have to file a petition in order to remove Schiavo, but that 'it doesn't mean we'd have to have judicial approval in advance of taking the action if we believed it met the threshold for doing it.'
Hadl said that seven years of court rulings backing Schiavo's husband Michael, in his contention that Terri Schiavo did not wish to be kept alive artificially would not stop the DCF from taking action.
'We're not compelled to look at prior judicial proceedings,' Hadl said.
What we are compelled to look at is the presenting circumstances and any allegiations of abuse and neglect that we have recieved. So we have to deal with those and fufill out statutory responsibility.'

Michael has had 15 years of judicial process. Allegiations of abuse have come forward to the state DCF that must be investigated.
The National Guard must make sure that she is alive to see the investigation go forward.

And the jury would find them NOT Guilty and find the bringer of charges guilty.

Now, if only she was a serial killer or something her life would probably be spared.

It is being reported on another thread that Felos has also said he will bring assault and battery charges against anyone who tries to get Terri.... Absolutely laughable - the hipocrisy.

The courts have had their say. The matter has been resolved, let it go. The hypocrisy of Freepers demanding action in violation of court orders is appalling.

I don't consider Gov. Bush a wimp. What I see is a governor repeatedly trying to save Terri's life.
Further, the rules are being written and X'd out and overwritten every few hours at this point.

If Felos is the left-wing lawyer he has no authority to bring charges only the State can bring charges,

And the proper answer to Stalin's question was "As many as he needs." We see who was right. Between Reagan and the Pope, they destroyed Stalin's evil Empire.
How many divisions does Terri need in order to survive? We'll see. So far the divisions of lawyers are failing miserably. Lets see how the legions of bureaucrats do.

Rule of law? You mean the same "rule of law" that had to be broken to take slaves to safety and freedom? The same "rule of law" that made black people have to drink from different water fountains than white people, until civil disobedience changed things? We're at that point now.
Any law that declares an innocent woman be starved to death deserves contempt, not respect.

Of these Republicans, I would like to know which, if any, are 'former' Democrats. (i.e. may have switched parties in the past). Do you happen to know?

Isn't it true her medical bills are now being paid by Medicare and she shouldn't even be in this particular type of hospice if her bills are paid by Medicare?
If true (think I read this info on theempirejournal.com), seems like government could somehow use this to get her out of there-but nothing has gone the way one would think in this heinous, unforgivable forced death of Terri.

I believe the State Cops would prevail if it came to that. How it must turn the stomach's of the local cops to arrest children and prevent Terri's family from giving her even a drop of water.
Apparently it doesn't, since they're out there doing it instead of refusing to play a role in this travesty. "Just following orders", just like the Nazi prison guards said, just like the guards at Stalin's gulags said...

And if filed by an attorney against a LEO exercising statutory powers, should result in Rule 11 sanctions. Between what should happen, and what the SCOFLAws will do, is another question.
