O Lord,
remember your child Terri
in her misery,
Thank you for making her a sign
of how even a poor vunerable child like her
that others think of
as the undesired remnants
of a life tragically cut short
but over
can be used, in your hands,
like a glowing ray of light
to shine in the darkness
of man's willingness to sin
and to hurt
and to destroy,
and reveal the cruelty,
and thus show us how precious even the least of your children are
in this hard world,
but Lord,
we ask with trembling heart
and voice
and hands,
for you to let Terri live,
in the loving hands of those who care,
we ask you to give her to drink
so that life returns to her dry and parched body,
we ask you to lift her up
and keep her safe from her enemies
who are trying to kill her
pretending to do this in the name of love.
Yours, O Lord,
Is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
now and forever, Amen!
