"Would you have been so offended if I had added "BARF" to the title. Those quotes were from the article, not from me, although I probably was sympathetic with some of them. I think its bad public policy for the Congress to be meddling in these cases."
You didn't issue a barf alert.
Plus you never said you disagreed with the article after posting it back on 10/27/2003.
As you say above, you are "sympathetic" to some of the quotes in the article.
The article begins like this:
"Sometime in the third week of October, Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged Florida woman who's at the center of a nasty battle over the right to die, ceased to be a person. She has instead become a political symbol, which may be a fate worse than death."
This is a human being, who lights up when her mother comes into the room, who laughs at her father's jokes, and who tries to speak, not a political statement.
"This is a human being, who lights up when her mother comes into the room, who laughs at her father's jokes, and who tries to speak, not a political statement."
And I'll add that she's a human being with all the same rights as any other which are supposed to be protected constitutionally. Those individual rights should take precedence over state rights, something even a bunch of freepers ignore who then go on to whine that they are true conservatives and Terri should die.
