I don't believe all attorneys are like that. My husband was a lawyer and I worked with a Judge for many, many years. I know these people and they all aren't unethical scumbag, ambulance chasers. Like any profession, a few rotten apples spoil it for all, but much like undertakers, they have jobs to do and they do the best they can - some better than others - it is a nasty job that someone has to do. Thank God it is not you who must do it.
I say that the force of this site is such that none of us need to feel helpless in a matter like this. Consider our numbers. There is a great deal of power here. Enough to intimidate even the ACLU.
By the way, did you see that the ACLU is fighting for the rights of parents to leave their teenaged kids unchaperoned in a nudist camp - in VIRGINIA. Can't let those kids pray or say the Pledge, but we can let them cavort naked in the woods together (and then wonder why they get pregnant or catch diseases).
That Virginia thing is just Mr. Willis looking out for his own personal interests, eh!
It's truly unfortunate, but the Virginia ACLU is composed mostly of the sort of lawyers that are leading the whole legal system, both judges and lawyers, into deep jeopardy.
Notice the public's concern regarding the killings in Atlanta ~ the only sympathy being expressed was for the Court Reporter, and the lady who was a hostage.
The judiciary is in trouble when no one particularly cares if a judge gets shot at the bench, and God help the lawyers when that becomes common.
BTW, my Great Grandfather was a lawyer who died from what used to be an occupational hazard ~ histoplasmosis. You got that from the pigeons that used to flock on the roof where he practiced. No one else but one of his 10 sons wanted to be a lawyer after that.
