Florida is a no-nonsense state when it comes to this.
Something that leftists seem to ignore is that jails have two purposes.
1) To punnish the convict. Of course, according to leftists, that punnishment can't be too harsh.
2) To protect society from the actions of the convict. This is the part of the reason for jails that leftists ignore. They'll cry and whine that society doesn't matter, and that it's not fair to the convict.
Put simply, given the amazingly high recitivism rates of child molesters, people convicted of the wanton molestation of a child should get a life sentance, with no chance of parole.
Either that, or we need to make parole boards responsible for the ciminal acts by parolees.
After all, the owners of a dog can be held responsible for damages caused by the dog. Why can't we hold te members of parole boards responsible for the criminal actions of the parolees?

You may be right. I still don't understand how they said early this morning that Couey was likely not involved, and would be released shortly. Strange twist of events.
Maybe someone already posted this but I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that the sister he lived with across the street should be prosecuted in some way. She lied about him living there.

I could be wrong but from what I understand, he was living there and she lied to police about it. I don't know how long he had been living there but if he did lie to her about reporting the change of address, why would she hide that he was living there? I'll try to find the article where I read that she lied about it and post it.
