Greer gives order
Would I starve my mom to death? No.
Greer is seeing this as an invasion into HIS domain and screwing with HIS court order. HE rules HIS court.
IOW: MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!
He can't find the House or Senate in contempt so he does this. The question then becomes if the person who actually pulls the tube can be found in contempt of congress.
Black Robe Fever is a very real phenomenon. I have seen it end marriages and friendships.
waiting for the day a court declares you brain dead without medical tests and then refuses to admit any evidence to the contrary.
terri could walk into greer's court right now and he'd still rule against keeping her alive.
Extra, extra, read all about it.
United States exits Weimar Republic into Nazi age. Cripples will be executed without justice with the aid and orders of liberals.
Next on the chopping block, hetero, christian, white, males.
Does insurance cover the side effects of bulimia/anorexia?
My heart hurts.....
Watch and pray, it's not over.
If this was a rapist-murderer about whom there was some rumour of a doubt about guilt or slight flaw in due process in his conviction, you can bet the sentence would not be carried out for 15 years. He might even be pardoned.
Democratic Congressman Waxman issued a statement claiming that these subpoenas are unenforceable:
These subpoenas are unenforceable. A committee subpoena must be used to gather information. But these subpoenas are dictating the medical care that Ms. Schiavo receives. Congress has no authority to use subpoenas to tell doctors what treatment they can and cannot provide to any individual under their care.I think Waxman is wrong, but I will have to wait until this issue hits federal court, all the way to the SCOTUS.
You're probably right about the original intent of the US Constitution, but most federal judges are always willing to grab more power from the states, private entities and individuals.
The federal issue is can a state judge issue an order which will lead to the death of a witness who is subpoenaed by congress.
I agree.. This stinks to high heavan!!!
The President or Congress for that matter as I understand it has not the ability to overrule state decisions in cases that are subject to the state.
"Does he get some insurance money from this murder (that's what is is - MURDER!)?"
Yes, he does, although I do not know of the exact amount.
Moreover, he's spiting her in-laws, will collect from movies royalties, TV interviews, and books etc. But most importantly, by killing Terri, he may be obstructing a murder.
Have you read all the info on Terri? If you have then surely you know that she makes sounds, she was sitting up, she was eating (spoon fed) and swallowing. Her husband decided that it was too expensive to have someone feed her so he stopped it and asked for her to be fed by tubes. He has denied all physical therapy and speech therapy. She should at least have a chance to try. He has also denied her having an MRI and a PET scan. Her CAT scan is 15 years old.
Don't think the White House would get involved in this. (As much as I would love for them to do that!)
Wouldn't be prudent to generalize here, either. While there are some activist judges, no doubt about it, most judges are thoroughly professional. Our state (Alaska) judges are appointed but then face general election every ten years.
What if the fetus has Down's Syndrome?
Just a small little question... If it was so important to her to not be kept alive in a situation like this why does sh not have a living will? I mean one would think that it would be of great importance. Don't you have one?
Exactly!
