**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.
Bumping.
Another feature of FR that I like is the hyperlink that says "View Replies". You can follow a discussion down using this feature. Also you can find if another poster already answered a particular comment.
FR offers you a choice about which way you want to read a thread. You can follow a thread chronologically, by reading posts on the order they were logged. That's usually the way most newbies read a thread.
Or you may use the "View Replies" feature to read only replies to a comment, or the "To [a number]" feature to find out what comment is being responded.
"Three neurosurgeons who examined Terri stated in court documents that she is not PVS, and would benefit from traditional therapies."
You wouldn't have a hint which ones ?
Engstrand & Goldsmith & Green made their diagnosis from watching videos , so that's not examining her...
Weidman had experiences with his mother, and read about Terri on the internet.
Hammesfahr's report simply lists more tests he think should be done.
"Not that I would want to extend her suffering. I wouldn't."

He/she has, by the above declarative sentence, served notice to this thread that he/she's not worthy of a response.
Well, I gave it up; I'm not willing to get banned to prove a point everybody can see.
Do have this kind of callous disregard for everyone who cannot speak?
Gotta go with the President in his remarks.
Thanks for finding that in the link; we're headed out in 5 minutes. I've set the VCR for 9:00. It should be interesting to see Terri's parents and Michael on LKL.
Uhhh? No.
I should write a sticky note. I'm not a habitual Larry King Live viewer.
Everyone makes these wild accusations without any evidence of fact. IF the guy had caused this coma it seems very likely that with all the court interest he would have been charged.
Without a will the spouse is the legal guardian and speaks for the disabled person. My personal wishes are clearly stated to my wife - NO living with extraordinary means. I believe that Ms. Shiavo voiced this to her husband as many married couples do. And most married couples never think it will happen to them.
It happened.
Call the guy all the names you want, but until YOU walk in his shoes by making that kind of decision nobody - I repeat NOBODY can second guess him. I have made that decision for my Father. He voiced his desire to never live with tubes and such so after a heart attack we pulled the breathing tubes. It was not easy.
In this case the parents believe that their daughter has congnition, yet all the evidence says otherwise. The lawyers on the parents side have turned this into a circus while invoking everyone's emotions, intimating that the woman uttered "I want to live" and all kinds of other stuff.
While it may be thought by some to be cruel, if the woman wants to live, then she needs to eat. If she can eat then she obviously has cognitive ability. My guess is that she can not feed herself or swallow when spoon fed. No amount of rehabilitation will save this woman. Were she living 50 years ago she would have already died.
While we don't know and will never know what she thinks - if anything - my guess is that if she is aware at all of her situation she might find it horrible. Perhaps she is saying "I want to die" instead.
Nobody will ever know. Making wild accusation against the husband is just as cruel as pulling the feeding tube.
I side with the Judge and Husband in what is certainly a most dreadful situation they have both found themselves in.
Just my thougts.
Many. Comments began on the first thread I saw in August 2003 and they continue against Republicans in general today. I can't come up with a Google combination that will isolate them satisfactorily, but perusal of the linked thread will identify some.
Freepers call to action re. Terri Schindler-Schiavo. Make a complaint against Judge Greer:

But, I do appreciate your concern. You shouldn't have to wonder where I'm coming from. I've been in these threads long enough that everyone is well aware I don't want Terri to die. I don't wish death on anyone. Unlike the Leftist nutjobs at DU, I eulogize in my own personal time even when someone on the left passes away. I even promised my hardcore Liberal grandmother that I wouldn't use her funeral as a launching pad for hardcore Republican political aspirations.
Sorry for the double post.
If she had gotten therapy, and not been hidden from the public by this leftist judge and her 'husband' who want her to die, she most likely would have done a lot of things sooner.
If something isn't done, she's going to starve to death because she can't complete the sentence "I want to live." And I don't know how anyone doesn't find that extremely disturbing.....
I'd like to know why I'm quickly branded "callous" "advocate of murder" a "Nazi deathcamp gatekeeper", also told to "drink a big steaming cup of STFU" and all these other ludicrous terms simply for the fact that I only know bits and pieces of this case, but I know enough to know that this is a moral issue and a humane issue, and we saw today that it become a political issue to set future precedent. I've also learned in the 3 or 4 months since I started taking an interest in this, that whatever Micheal says is pure hearsay and should be discounted, and whatever the parents and their friends say is the absolute of truth.
Furthermore, the media says she fell down, and I come on FR and hear she was a victim of spousal abuse.
>"Furthermore, the media says she fell down, and I come on FR and hear she was a victim of spousal abuse."<
Maybe it's true. How often does the media lie to us? They sure as #ell don't tell the truth about what happens in a partial birth abortion. They call it "so called partial birth abortion"
Some points about the mainstream media...I haven't heard any of them pointedly tell the public that she is brain damaged, not brain dead. And you don't here them state plainly that she breathes on her own, etc.
Or that it may take up to two weeks for Terri Schiavo to slowly die, and she is really going to die of dehydration and painful kidney failure.
I find that sickening. There is a euthanaisia agenda with the main stream press. BTW, I recall the media LOVED Dr. Kevorkian...
When one side in a case is deliberately concealing evidence, especially when the efforts at such concealment go far beyond normal practice, it tends to imply that the evidence being concealed would not be favorable for the person concealing it.
If Terri were indeed in a permanent vegetative state, and Michael et al. knew that, their actions would make no sense. They would be expending huge amounts of effort in a manner counterproductive to their own cause. After all, if Michael allowed Terri's parents a week to give Terri therapy and videorecord the results, he would bolster his case if her condition were indeed as dire as he claims. Likewise if he let the parents try to feed Terri.
The actions of Michael et al. only make sense if they know that Terri's condition is much better than is being let on. And in that case, they make perfect sense.
By Michael's own statements, it's clear that he is not interested in Terri's privacy (when Terri's brother complained she hadn't gotten a gynecological exam in the last ten years, Michael started talking about prying legs apart, blood, smells, etc. and didn't even answer the question of whether Terri had, in fact, had an exam in the last ten years). On the other hand, abusers are very often concerned about their victims' "privacy". Here again, Michael's behavior is consistent with his having bad motives, and not consistent with his having good ones.
Thanks for the info. See how easy that was? My persistence is finally paying off in huge dividends.
