Actually, yes they are. Judge Greer allowed Schiavo to use Terri's trust money to fund his bid to remove her feeding tube. Only about $50,000 is left and she's considered indigent and is on Medicaid/Medicare.
Rather ironic that her money was used to pay Felos. And nasty too.
"Judge Greer allowed Schiavo to use Terri's trust money to fund his bid to remove her feeding tube."
I didn't know that. Judge Greer is long overdue for impeachment or recall, or whatever they do in Florida.
I just read in the Michael Schiavo transcript on ABC that he is not getting any bills for Terri's care. Apparently he has wasted all of the money that he got for Terri's support and care. Michael and Felos are bedfellows when it comes to spending the money that Terri did have for her care. This alone is reason for the state to dump him as her guardian. So read that transcript.
Terri is on Medicaid and not Medicare.
The people who keep bringing up the money issues are frequently
here arguing for a different agenda, such as assisted suicide.
Often, they feel that the decision to kill should partially
be based on how much it is costing, and who is paying.
Regardless of their reasons, money shouldn't decide morals or judgmental 'facts'.
I'd rather see it treated like the Bobby Blake case...
Require judgemental 'facts' in a life-or-death case be decided
ONLY by a jury of 12, not by a lone judge.
Require the standard of proof be "BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT"
--not-- "the PREPONDERANCE of evidence"
Require self-serving heresay evidence ELIMINATED or at least
STRONGLY degraded in life/death issues.
Allow condemned innocent life the same or better levels
of appeal as convicted murderers.
