MEXICO CITY - The leaders of the United States, Mexico and Canada, confronting the growth of rival groups in Europe and Asia, hope to strengthen their free-trade pact by signing an "Initiative for North America" next week in Texas, Mexico President Vicente Fox said Wednesday.
But Fox made clear that tensions remain over how to secure the countries' borders, criticizing new U.S. walls running along parts of its 2,000-mile frontier with Mexico. "No country that is proud of itself should build walls," he said.
Fox, President Bush and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin are scheduled to meet March 23 at Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch during Bush's Easter vacation.
. . . .
Speaking at a news conference with U.S. and Canadian reporters, Fox vowed to take legal action against migrant-hunting vigilantes in Arizona and promised to fight terrorism.
. . .
But in both Spanish and English, Fox repeatedly expressed concern about state initiatives to limit rights of migrants and services for them in the United States, and about the U.S. government's effort to slow migration by building walls.
"We are convinced that walls don't work. They should be torn down," Fox said. He called the walls "discriminatory; they attack liberty. So no country that is proud of itself should build walls. Nobody can isolate himself these days."
. . .
He said Mexicans "totally reject" the migrant hunters recently formed in Arizona to help stem the illegal crossings there, which have risen partly because of the construction of walls elsewhere. The vigilantes "are completely in violation of American law itself and in violation of laws anywhere," Fox said.
He said Mexico "will be very alert to react legally against any lawbreaking" by those groups, either under U.S. or international law.

I'm sorry...I fell off my Executive Chair LMFreakingAO!!!!!
Who writes his stuff??!! lol
My head about popped off when I read it today---where does Fox get off telling Americans what we can/can't legally do on our own SOVEREIGN soil?

My dear friend...the fruit is coming in early. And Americans are doing the work. Thank GOD!
Sen. Hutchison is on the Senate floor asking for an amendment to add more border control agents on the border--
it isn't a fence, but it is a start.
If I didn't live so far away, I would join the Minutemen!!
As an American it truly embarrasses me and I feel shame and an abandonment by my President.

This is one of the reasons I keep saying "WASHINGTON IS OUT OF CONTROL". It is. It is no longer working AS A GOVERNMENT FOR AND BY THE PEOPLE ---
While "we don't have any evidence or any indication" that terrorists have entered Mexico en route to the United States, Fox said his government was working with the United States and other nations on security.

Where's that link to the NEW UNION OF THE AMERICAS *raft* that the American/Mexican CFR and Canuckistan's Executive Poo-bas are trial-ballooning for our own EU anti-sovereign-Consitutional HORSE*PUCKEY*???? No borders and Security from the State of Mexico and the State of Canuckistan??? I'm spitless...
Fox is outdoing himself in tell us how what America should be like and how we should behave as Americans.
Is our President going to stand up for us? I wish I had more confidence that he would.
As the NAFTA nation leaders prepare to meet March 23, Fox argued that the free-trade pact that took effect on New Year's Day 1994 "has worked and worked very well."
He said Mexico's jobless rate was 4.1 percent under international standards - the lowest in the Americas and lower than any in Europe.
Between 1995 and the end of last year, Fox said, Mexico's economy doubled in size in dollar terms while per-capita income rose from $3,100 to $6,505.

Guess what the 2nd largest economy in Mexico is? Right behind OIL and ahead of TOURISM, it's US DOLLARS shipped back from America! Those they REFUSE to 'employ' in Mexico are invited by American Traitors to work here. State-sponsored, Enemy Within-aided, Criminal Takeover of America. Period, paragraph and END OF STORY. Mail it in.
Wish I had a chance to read the posts that were pulled on this thread. I'll bet they were good.
I'd love to oblige, however, it would have to be offline...;)
The first order of business for our country is to ban travel to any destination in Mexico until the government there stops the illegal mexicans from coming into the United States.
The mexican government by their policies whether directly or indirectly are also promoting the drug trafficing into the Unites States and benefitting from drug money.
That Fox is an out and out phony who plays our President like a harp.
I totally agree. Hitlery might not let us out of the walls, however, I'd rather stay and FIGHT in that event, anyway...
Yeah, but the Prez at the time changed his mind and wanted the whole thing. We should have done it then. Everyone would be better off today - maybe.
Someone needs to put a muzzle on this POS and President Bush had better realize his stance on the immigration issue is completely out of step with the majority of Americans and can only hurt the Republican party AND OUR NATION.

I predict 10,000+ (many Arizonans, New Mexicans, Californians, Coloradan, Texans, Nevadans - I wouldn't be surprised if EVERY STATE is represented in AZ with the Mighty MinuteMen before April is over...
How about the immigration wall you put on your southern border Fox? Your leadership is a failure. You export your poor - you loser.

I hope you have a good attorney. Mexico would like to speak with you...
If Iraq costs a TRILLION to turn around, why not a few trillion and our sovereignty on Mexico??? /s
HEAR, HEAR!!!
Well, I agree with that corrupt POS about that.
Those walls should be torn down, immediate prior to an American invasion of Mexico to collect the debt they owe for all the services we provide to illegals.
We should collect whatever land is necessary to cover these expenses, as well as War expenses. Then we should build a new fence there. 20' high. Concertina barbed wire. Dogs. Sniper towers.
