Looks like these demonstrations will dwarf Hizbollah's pro-Syria demonstration, even when the later used bused-in Syrians to plump up the numbers.

Hey Hizbollah!

I feel so much better now. This is being reported as the largest gathering in Lebanese history; precisely where one would expect liberty to stand on the pecking order.

I hope someone is planning on protecting the pro-Sistani Shiia from Hizbollah. It's wonderful and exceedingly brave of them to take this stand, Hizbollah will not be kind to them.

It has already dwarfed it and by a least two folds.
After three weeks of preparations and forcing people to demonstrate under the gun, Hizabllah and the Syrian secret service were able to march a maximum of 500,000 demonstrators last week many of them were Syrian workers in Lebanon, Syrians coming from Syria, and Palestinians living in Beirut refugee camps, and the Lebanese people who participated in that demonstration were almost all Shiite Muslims.
Today anti-Syria demonstration is a least one million people and they are 100% Lebanese that include all sectors of Lebanon, Christians, Muslims, and Druze.

n Kana, south Lebanon, unkown elements in the Shiite community destroyed a statue of Hafez Assad, erected years ago by Syrian Baath sympathizers. The area is under full control of pro-Iranian Hizbollah. Observers concluded that a Shiite "pro-Sistani" underground was omnipresent in south Lebanon. Interesting.
