[history]
Kerry Pacer was used to the whispering behind her back, the name-calling and the snickering when she walked down the hall. But when almost the entire student body at White County High School booed as she accepted a rose from a female friend during a Valentine's Day (news - web sites) program last month, she knew it was time to do something.

Sex as recreation gives depth to the double meaning of recreation. It's all about having fun.

There is a fundamental difference between penitent homosexuals and those who demand that your kids celebrate their lifestyle at a high school prom. As Christians we must make distinctions. I concur, and maybe I missed it, but I don't remember seeing that distinction before. While I may appear to do this myself, as I see it, we all should be careful in making sweeping statements.
An degenerate mind doesn't hear very well.
That's probably true by definition, but perhaps some same-sex attraction is the result of confusion and/or incompletion of an earlier or perhaps unmet environmental need.
If they come back to church, you can lower your voice.
I think raising our voice has merit at times. We certainly see examples of Jesus raising his voice and examples of Jesus' love.

You can't seriously be telling me you don't understand the distinction. You began by saying "I'm a sinner."
The reprobate from Baltimore doesn't have that humility, nor do her handlers. They want YOU to tell her she's completely in God's grace. They want YOU to embrace her sin.
No wonder the church is in such trouble. Is anyone catechized any more?

You can't seriously be telling me you don't understand the distinction. You began by saying "I'm a sinner." I understand she isnt a repentant Christian homosexual. If she doesnt prescribe to Christianity, who exactly do you think you are helping by nailing any homo who won't prescribe to Christianity as "children of the devil". You remind me of that freak on campus holding a Bible in everyone's face and screaming "sinners" at anyone who walked by... You hardly sound like a loving Christian Christ wants us to be by your comments.

No. Sometimes the good old Anglo-Saxon word is the right word.
I don't curse people or use the Lord's name in vain, but I don't use baby-talk, either. "Shit" is a vulgarity, not an obscenity. If you want to use euphemisms like "crap" or "poopy", that's your affair.
I'm sorry if you were offended by my choice of words, but I reserve the right to use whatever word I wish as the situation merits. If in your opinion I am being abusive, you should of course feel free to report me to the Admin Mod at any time.

Kids in highschool get made fun of for being different. In other breaking news: the Sun rose in the East, the Pope denounces violence, and there is unrest in the Middle East. ;-)

Is anybody at your church divorced and remarried? Living with someone outside of marriage? An unwed parent? "Doing it" outside of marriage? Cheating on their spouse? Masturbating? Using birth control? All of these acts are just as evil in the sight of God as being a homosexual. Therefore, by your standard, anyone who performs them is a "child of the devil".
How come you only single out the poofters for special condemnation?

Ha! until the daddy takes the T-bird away hey?
Seriously though...
On page one of Rick Warren's book, _The Purpose Driven Life_ he speaks so eloquently to the spiritually minded of our present condition. It is one of my favorite lines of all time and goes to the heart of what you observe, that life is all about "me" and showing "me" a good time. The quest for "fun" is encouraged and to be admired in our present age and anyone who would dare question "my" concept of fun? now THAT is unacceptable!.
But Rick Warren's first chapter is:
"It All Starts With God"
and the first line is:
"It's not about you."

In other breaking news: the Sun rose in the East, the Pope denounces violence, and there is unrest in the Middle East. ;-) Very good! Yeah who didn't ride a school bus in fear of a bully?
I know I did. In middle school I rode the school bus with a 16yo who would smoke at the bus stop. That scared the bageebies out of me. One day I got stabbed twice in the leg with a pencil, I still have two lead dots on my leg, because I put my legs across the aisle and would not let a bully pass to go back and beat up another kid. Life as an adolescent sucks at times.
And we are so twisted about what we tell the kids they should be getting ticked off about. We send them in the wrong direction when we criticize them for making moral judgments about other's deviant behaviors.
Get the gov't out of the classroom.........
...........now that we have them out of the bedroom!
