CNN tanking as Fox News surges Double-digit declines reported for Larry King, Wolf Blitzer
The ratings are in for February, and the numbers are not good for CNN which saw steep losses in its viewership, while the Fox News Channel continued its rise.
According to Nielsen Media Research, CNN's ratings fell by 21 percent last month in primetime, and 16 percent overal reports Variety. Primetime big-name shows such as "Larry King Live," "Wolf Blitzer Reports," "Lou Dobbs Tonight," "Paula Zahn Now" and "Newsnight With Aaron Brown" all experienced double-digit declines.
Only "Anderson Cooper 360" had a slight increase of 2 percent.
During President Bush's State of the Union Address, CNN was soundly beaten by Fox, and even lost the key 25-54 demographic to third-place MSNBC.
In contrast, Fox News was the only news network on cable to see viewership increases in February, as it outpaced all other cable news companies combined for the sixth straight month.

My apologies. Must be mixing you up with someone else. I remember replying to you on the 10 most powerful women thread, and I think that's what I was confusing it with. Glad to hear you don't post on the Schiavo threads. I must try to stay off them too as they aggravate me to no end. I think I will try to follow your example and not post on them. Again, sorry for the mixup.
Change the sentence above to read:
It would be great to see the likes of Ann Coulter, Ben Stein, Michelle Malkin and others square off in a purposely loose format against the days selected liberal victim.
and there you have it.
I have to watch carefully though. When he gets going on Illegals, the Trade Agreement messes, outsourcing, Social Security and the other Gov't outrages my blood pressure shoots through the roof. The show is good but can be dangerous to your health and should be preceded by a warning. i.e., the show is very valuable but the subjects are very enraging - The truth can sometimes hurt.
Dobbs has the same show on every night. It's as if he taped one show...anti-illegal immigration...and runs it on a loop. I'm also anti-ilegal immigration, but you can't do the same subject five nights a week and maintain audience interest.
"swarmy creep"
Did you mean "smarmy"? ;-)
Nobody can flog a non-story like KO.
agreed. well put (and funny way of saying it).
Thanks for the ping!
You mean she's not doing Chandra Levy any more ?
Honestly the show never changes only the names....
I have to agree with you about Greta...I dont really know why people complain so much about her, unless they are just complaining because they dont like her....
I watch Greta every nite...and no, she does not go on and on incessantly on just one case, like Scott Peterson, or Michael Jackson...while those trials are on, yes, she did discuss them a lot, but so what, so do a lot of other news people...
What I find most informative on Gretas show, is first of all, she always has a lot of different lawyers and law enforcement people, and medical people, all with different views, and all presenting often different viewpoints, for us to ponder, and then make up our own minds...
She also does what I consider to be a public service, which I find on no other progams, whether on FOX or not...On many of Gretas programs, she may have up to three or four different news stories, about people who are missing, or have been found mysteriously dead...these are for lack of a better word, these are 'smaller' cases of missing and murdered people(I call them 'smaller' as they have not made the national news as much as say the Scott Peterson case or the Robert Blake case)...certainly no cases of missing people or murdered people are 'small', but few make the big national headlines....
If you watch Gretas show long enough, you will see her bring up these stories, interview the families and friends of these missing and murdered people, and giving the friends and families, a voice on TV, that I see no one else giving them...
So frankly, to all the Greta naysayers, I say, tough luck with trying to get rid of her...I would rather watch her any day, than watch Sean Hannity blather all over, and say nothing of substance...

You are so right. Greta gives voice to the voiceless. I must say she's a little shrimp though. Maybe because I'm tall I notice these things. I think she must be 3 foot 2, if that (just joking). Well, others can not like her; I do, and at least 1 person agrees with me (you).
I can understand why people aren't interested in watching Lou Dobbs. I'd get pretty tired of his incessant, somber-toned "The middle class is doomed" broadcasts. "Oh, by the way, did I mention I have a book where you can read even more about how the middle class is screwed? This is Lou Dobbs, tune in tommorrow if you still have a TV and Outsourcing and Illegal Immigration haven't killed you yet."
You are correct. It was all of those statistics classes, and calulus courses I took when stumping for Barry Goldwater in 1963. We mature grey-beards just never got it. Now we just run multi-million dollar businesses to stay out of trouble to pay the greens fees and fund the NRA.
As I said, you ignored Colmes to attack Hannity. I think you exposed yourself and didn't realize it.
I don't expose myself. Further, I have a severe problem with Colmes' loyalty to this country. Hannity is an uneducated blow-hard.
Hannity had a lot to do with the get out the vote for Bush last year. Are you jealous that he has way more cash than you will ever have ? You should pick your targets more carefully so you don't give people the wrong idea about what your agenda is.
