No - that area you are referring to was the Lenox area, where he killed the customs agent and left with his truck. The area I'm asking about is the apartment complex in Duluth, where he was apprehended. It is quite a way from Lenox and off the path. Besides, Nichols lived long enough in Atlanta and not really that far from Lenox to know where it is. We are not being told why he went to those apartments - there was a specific reason, had to be. They are nowhere near anywhere else he was and if he was merely running, he would have went up the interstate. Again, I think he knew that woman or someone there anyway.
