Condi "Mildly Pro-Choice"
http://www.drudgereport.com ^ | 3-11-2005 | Matt Drudge

Posted on 03/11/2005 6:32:41 PM PST by Sola Veritas

Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...

>>>It's a heartbreaking thing and I've seen two women go through it. They got sicker and sicker and one was already a mom of a little boy who would have been orphaned HAD SHE NOT MADE THE DECISION SHE DID.>>>

Or if others on this board were allowed to make the decision for her.

That is brilliant. The left turned abortion into a glorious feminine rite (and right). Which in turn made many of us who know that abortion is wrong react in a knee-jerk fashion (sometimes, the emphasis is on jerk) and forget the women involved.

Prove Condi's views.

You keep claiming as such.

Where are the damned links?

Note last line of FC's post Peach....stark contrast to what you said about Dubya.

FC claims Dub does not support a Constitutional Amendment.

I do know he toughened his stance between governor and his POTUS run.

Man....you mildly pro-choice folks need to get your talking points straight...makes it hard for us misogynistic single issue Neanderthals to keep up.

"Hmmmm....maybe marajade was right."

I'd say my posts were rather questioning and there's been alot of answers in this thread.

Rice has never run for any elected office. She's an unknown campaigner. Can she related to the non diplomatic world? Can she handle 24/7 scrutiny? I don't know. No one does.

I'd like to know what makes Condi Rice qualified to be president. I'd like to know her stances on domestic issues. DEFECIT SPENDING, Taxes, 2nd Amendment(I've heard good there, although 2ndhand), jobs, life, trade, the UN, judges, border security, and the size of government.

Domestic issues come first with me.

Wow - a thoughtful post. lol

Foreign policy is first with me, but it isn't enough to blow off all the above you wisely note. That's why I think we should look toward seriously grooming a few good men for '08. It's crazy to start pushing Condi now, IMO.

1% of al abortions are done to save the life of the mother

"Does that include partial birth abortions?"

No it does not. You are attacking your own Strawman.

You know what the saddest part of your story is? If your mother had decided to have an abortion because she had been raped, you would call her a murderer.

She had no decision-making power. She was incapacitated.

You're a real piece of work.

You keep saying it's so rare. But you're so wrong. My sister had to ectopic pregnancies. Those aren't half as rare as you'd like us to believe.

Abortion is NOT an issue the President can effect.

Evidently you have not followed President Bush's time in office very carefully. He is the most pro life POTUS we have ever had and it shows in what he has done.

Ok. It can be difficult to convey the intent behind words posted on a forum when all you have is text, so I'll take your word for it. My apologies.

"That is a bald faced lie created by the death dealers at the planned parenthood abortuaries."

No. It is research cited by ROBERT BORK in his book Slouching Towards Gomorrah".

Next victim...

Obviously, Republicans who would stay home for one issue, are guilty of killing far more babies by the simple fact that by "staying home" they place a huge Baby killer and marxist in the MOST POWERFUL POSITION in the world"...

You make no sense. It makes no difference whether a baby dies of natural causes or is killed by an abortionist, because death is death. It makes no difference if a man dies in a car crash or in a murder, because death is death. Your statement is beyond logic.

Sorry for all the italics in the previous response to your post, this is the way it was supposed to be written.

Ridiculous... do you even know what mildly pro choice means as defined by Condi Rice?

Do you?

I do. It means vague. It's like the liberals who will not really say what they stand for but put out 'vague' instead. It's doublespeak.

It's: maybe I don't really believe in anything, but I can't say that. I can't say I'm pro-life because I'm a woman; single, childless and I do get the final say on what happens with me. I can't say I'm pro-choice because, who knows, maybe I could be on the Republican ticket.

A few more words from her and this guessing game would not be necessary. She could have said how she thinks and feels about abortion.

Are all of you in this thread really closed minded to a black woman President?

Wow.

I'm curious why you think Condi is qualified to be president. She hasn't been a mayor, governor, senator, congressman, councilman, or in any position of leadership in government. She hasn't been the owner or CEO or manager of any large, medium or small business.

She has been successful at what she has done but not in anything which has, before now, thought to be preparatory for being President.

While it is true that President of the United States is an Equal Opportunity Employer(so to speak), it is not a position where affimative action applies. So the idea that it's a woman's turn to be President, or a black's turn to be President or a black woman's turn to be President is ludicrous.

But you think that being a black woman somehow qualifies her. And who ever doesn't agree with you is closed minded. You have introduced the race card, and the minority card, and have illustrated why Condi will not be the next President. There are simply too many people who think like you.
