Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...

Another thing you're forgetting: Rice has no experience running for office. There is also little indication now that she even wants to be President. I think Clinton would devour her! I think blacks would vote 70-30 Clinton, as they did 70-30 Kennedy over Nixon.

What difference does it make if the ONE is your child?

Not being pro-life is a good way to take a winnable race and turn it into a 20 point loss running 10% below Bush in your base counties.....and 8% below normal results in the dem counties.

That happened in a congressional race against the AWFUL Stabmenow(now a Sinator). That also happened with Geoff Fieger on top of the ticket. 10% voted third party, and many others voted for the dem.

"You haven't been reading the posts here have you? The absolutists think ANY allowances for abortion makes you the devil incarnate. They don't allow for any 'exception' in the pro-life side of the aisle."

Tell us what the "exception" is for murder?

Is it the 0.5% of abortions cases needed to "prevent the death of the mother"?

Not all killing is murder. There is a difference.

Same for abortions. Not all abortions are murder. 99.99999% of them are, but not all.

I think Condi just aborted her chance of being nominated.

that makes a lot of sense .. if it comes to Hillary v. Condi, because Condi is "mildly pro-choice" you will just sit home ... and watch Jamie Rubin running State Dept, another Janet Reno at DOJ, some wimp or other in charge of the CIA, and an anti-milltary person running the Pentagon. Gotta make you feel very principled!

That canard reminds me of the tall tale that 50,000 women a year died from back alley abortions prior to Roe.

Anything to defend killing unborn babies...err...pardon...appendages.

When's the last time that happened, and do you have names, addresses, witnesses? I thought not! Come in here with real stuff, not these knee-jerk, robot-like, mind-numbed Liberal arguments.

It happened to my best friend's daughter.

Now call me a liar. Just go ahead.

That woman you're mentioning, Hillary, had zero experience running for office too.

And I think far more minorities in this country would vote for a black woman than you think.

Thank you.

McCAIN [to Bush]: Do you believe in the exemption, in the case of abortion, for rape, incest, and life of the mother?

BUSH: Yeah, I do.

Her lack of experience in elected office is an excellent argument against her candidacy. Better than this other garbage!

Bush has taken his stand, people. He's picked his Successor. I've known this was going to happen since 2002. It's the only move that ever made any sense.

Wow, Chris!

You're moving up in the world! Spokesman for the President now??!! And on issues of such importance!!

I'm impressed...

But Hillary Rodham has long had the FIRE IN THE BELLY! And she will have had two Senate campaigns under her belt by 2008. GWB had two gubernatorial campaigns to his credit prior to 2000. Rice would wilt under her attacks like a chaff of wheat.

If the government didn't make it's views known on abortion, it's quite possible folks like Paul Hill could do what they wished without penalty.

That would eliminate abortion machschnell!

Full privatization of the whole business of abortion might well open up many opportunities to destroy it. So far no one has tried that although Roe v. Wade did not prohibit it!
