Yeah, and what about nurses who have to manipulate heavy bodies all the time? Should there not be female nurses? I wonder how many lives are lost due to the precious moments wasted getting lard butt from the bed to the guerney.

I wonder how many other lives this EMT managed to save? Do you have any idea?

Maybe it's not the EMT at fault... maybe it's obesity?

Apples and oranges, different story, like in the military... there is what has to get done out in the field, and what has to happen in garrison.

My sister is a nurse who has to manipulate heavy bodies. Fortunately, in a hospital setting, there is usually some more physically capable person (male nurse/orderly), whose JOB it is to assist (unlike a person in a crowd at an accident or crime scene), available when necessary.

Again, in this case, the guy looked like a typical strong, large cop (probably a former high school football player and weightlifter, etc.). He did NOT look particularly obese, as you say. That sounds like an excuse to me.

Blame it on the fat victim, and maybe take it a step further...

Blame it on McDonalds?
