Apples and oranges, different story, like in the military... there is what has to get done out in the field, and what has to happen in garrison.

My sister is a nurse who has to manipulate heavy bodies. Fortunately, in a hospital setting, there is usually some more physically capable person (male nurse/orderly), whose JOB it is to assist (unlike a person in a crowd at an accident or crime scene), available when necessary.

Again, in this case, the guy looked like a typical strong, large cop (probably a former high school football player and weightlifter, etc.). He did NOT look particularly obese, as you say. That sounds like an excuse to me.

Blame it on the fat victim, and maybe take it a step further...

Blame it on McDonalds?

I'm not blaming it on McDonalds, if Bubba wants to eat himself into the size of a small doublewide... that's his responsibility. But denying a female EMT her job because he did, just doesn't make any sense at all to me. Seems like there were other around to help her lift... since when does an ambulance go out with 1 person?

Fantasy, utter fiction. Oh, you didn't indicate they were actually available.
