They may dismiss you for a lot of reasons, but I still would stand by my point. I hate to see people making excuses to not participate at all in the system.
I wasn't making an excuse; I was saying that I couldn't set aside my feeling about drugs in order to be fair to the defendant.
I could have just as easily have lied and stayed on the jury and not been fair to the defendant; do you think that would have been a good idea?
I have the best excuse to avoid "participating in the system" . . . I've had a couple of lawyers swear that they would never allow me to stay on a jury.
Because I am extremely rational and clear-thinking -- and this was the reason why they wouldn't want me on a jury -- it's clear to me that the entire system is really just a farce.
