This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

But then FR has the right to restrict whomever it chooses for whatever reason it decides... She's techinically on private property (server space). Indeed they do. JimRob pays for the space and the bandwidth. Some of us send him money, but it's still his. He, and those he designates, can do whatever they want with it.

They all sound crazy. Why is a female deputy escorting this big man alone? Why did the prosecutor say he was "not violent" in her news conference? She must have been smoking crack. From what he did to his ex girlfriend how can a jury come back hung?

Thanks for the information.

Yeah, I have to agree. An LEO in a courtroom has a duty to be able to restrain the perp or anyone else who tries to disrupt the court. (The judge should also have a firearm IMO). But the deputy has the main responsibility to be able to draw the weapon and restrain the perp before the perp can take the weapon away. A woman in this situation whould be more wary, sit farther away from the perp, take into account size and strength. I don't mind her being a woman, she should have had her weapon out and the perp shot dead in the middle of his first stride out of the chair. Your scenario doesn't match this situation at all. They were not even *in* the courtroom when her gun was taken and she was shot. To me it sounds like a procedural and/or issued equipment problem, having little or nothing to do with the sex of the deputy involved.

I'd personally be more fearful of your Siamese Cats then your Lab. My big 14 pound Blue Point male has actually bitten my son (who foolishly tried to intervene in a dog-and-cat spat by grabbing the cat rather than throwing a blanket or a glass of water over the conflict). He also chomped my husband one time (again, trying to intervene in a fight between the cat and another cat . . . the boys just don't THINK, not the cat boy nor the human boys . . . . he knows better than to bite ME and never has . . . )
My Lab has never bitten anything but her dinner and her chew toys. She doesn't even bite down on the ducks she retrieves . . .

No. As I told AC, I brought up because I know he's a hockey fan. However, I must add that Heatle got lucky. I'm sure that driving 80 mph while being drunk and killing someone would've got us (you and I) in a bigger trouble.
Are you Canadian by any chance?

I think it is fair to say that I am somewhat intelligent, but once you two started talking about cousins, I could not follow anything you'all said. It was like you were speaking another language.

What an emotional show. She did an excellent job and she tackled some tough questions. It's going to be a rough week ahead for Atlanta and the families.
Earlier I thought if they did not catch him before dark it meant he was somewhere easily hidden. I thought of what an easy target a kid driving home from school would be. Scary.
BTW At my son's middle school in Forsyth County they were not in lockdown but no student was allowed to go outside unless accompanied by a teacher. I forgot to ask if any cops were at the schools.

Is that about now? Indiana time is all messed up!

It started out with how you were worried your world could collide with the world of a person like this perp. Then we mentioned that is why you don't make eye contact in public conveyances with strangers because of this. Then I said in louisiana that we not only met eye contact but compared famly trees to see if we were cousins. Then hoosieremom remarked everyone was cousins in her town. And I warned her not to marry first cousins {unless she was that LeTourneau woman}. And wimpy said in NC you could marry your first cousin. Then I insulted NC saying they were primitive. And Hoosier told a really funny story about her town. That is it.

Coming from Louisiana, that means a LOT! LOL!

Well...they're giving the long list of law enforcement agencies working on this around the clock...12 hour shifts...the phone number to call.
They STILL haven't found the green Honda. Wow. Where the hell IS this guy?

My dad and I really fell in love with Nancy Grace (him more than me, obviously, since I am a she) watching her on Court TV. It was an emotional show tonight, I caught part of it.
