This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
He's more crafty and subtle than I gave him credit for at first then... he was leaving such a trail of destruction behind him I didn't think he'd just disappear.
Thing is, FR has enemies who will snip such crap (Liberal judge needed a killin") to make the whole board look like nutjobs.
Thing to focus on is catching and, hopefully killing a rabid beast. Uh, unless he turns himself in.
Isn't that the truth. Even if the deputy had been a large male, one would not be enough for this defendent. He has a history of violence. If it had been someone on trial for drunk driving ok, but he was on trial for rape, sodomy, threatening with weapons, etc.etc. and they let one deputy escort him. Makes no sense at all.

Unfortunately, in our current PC world, it becomes "illegal discrimination" in a lawsuit if a majority of women can't pass such a test, so the test would invariably get "dumbed down".

I haven't seen the Atlanta coverage at all. I'm just speaking to the worthlessness of "medium complexion" as a descriptive term. I do know from experience that the local media outlets in Seattle will often specifically exclude race information when describing at-large violent criminal suspects, when the suspects are black. It's a product of fear------there is clearly nothing racist about describing criminals that still pose a threat to the public, but the Seattle media has been in such a politically correct tizzy that they no longer even know what is and isn't racist.
BRAVO!!!!! Thats what lots of us have been saying all day!!! My husband came home from work a little while ago and asked me why the news media is reporting this guy as having a medium complexion. But what do we know we're Northerners! LOL!
Now, now, there's no need to get defensive, not with me, anyway. My point was that none of the instances you mentioned got this sort of news coverage, and none of them involved killing the judge presiding over his own re-trial, in the courtroom, and taking out more people besides, including two cops. We had two state-troopers shot dead on the interstate here a few years ago, and it didn't take an unreasonably long time to find the two killers, few days at most, IIRC. My entire argument with you (in the classic usage of the word) is that our shooter today will turn up pretty darn soon. BTW, I'm sure you've also experienced what I have, watching low-lifes selling other low-lifes down the river on the witness stand, often being involved in the exact same crime, but cutting a deal to save his own sorry hide a few years' prison time. You've probably also experienced the suspect's girlfriends and cousins and "associates" making "anonymous" calls to the police to let them know where the suspect can be found.
For God's sake they are replaying the parts of the press conference of Howard and Abramson on MSNBC. Both of them should resign immediately. Stupidity of that magnitude in elected officials is beyond belief.
Well, yes, of course, I'd run. I meant standing my ground in the sense of refusing to do what somebody pointing a gun at me told me to do. I should have added I hope I'm willing to get shot in the back while running away rather than get stuffed into a trunk, etc.
I don't like him either. Seems full of himself. Acts like he has to educate us. Thinks he knows everything. Ears are too big.
Maybe I'm just a little grouchy today and should have a vodka tonic. :-)
He said in a news conference, that he had so much stuff in his trunk, that he couldn't have gotten in it, had he wanted to, which he didn't. He pretty much knew how that story would likely end, so he ran. Got pistol whipped for it, but 15 stitches is a small price to pay, given his immediate circumstances.
And I've seen clips of the news from Atlanta too... so I don't think it's a massive conspiracy to cover up a suspect's race. Weird. I've heard white suspects being described as having medium complexions too so a few reporters are confused.
yes, I have experienced all that. But I never said that no one would turn him in. What I said was that he would be able to find some (some) that will give him aid and comfort. If for no other reason than...he has a gun and he knows how to use it. Most...if given the chance would turn him in. But that doesn't change the fact that some will help him. There are always those type out there. That is what makes our jobs so much harder.
I thought he'd be caught by now too.
