I just thought of this...why would they send two ex-Presidents ON SUCH A LONG FLIGHT on a plane, with only one bunk? Does that make sense? Is this 'Bubba gave up the bunk' just urban legend?

This was in this week's Newsweek but I think the story needs clarification. What I read between the lines was that the plane had one bedroom, not one bed, and it was prearranged that 41 would have the bedroom since Slick wanted to stay up and play cards. Presumably, there were daybeds or convertible sofas but Slick decided to sleep on the floor instead. Story definitely needs an explanation...

Regarding Clinton giving up the bunk to Bush 41, I can readily believe it as he probably was able to breathe and relax better in a reclining position which he could acheive by being in a seat. He probably hasn't slept in a flat position for quite some time.
