I don't think people should go door-to-door or stand on street corners and pass out anti-homosexual tracts. It is too provocative, and is not part of the basic gospel message.

I talk to some of them on another discussion group, and they get extremely angry if you try to persuade them that their lifesyle is wrong. If there is to be a change of heart, it has to come from within. It is interesting to gain some insights about how homosexuals feel and think.

Many of them feel like the minority group that used to get called the n-word every day.

If you can avoid confronting them about the morality and hygenic aspects of homosexuality, you can often find common ground just by talking to them and finding out they can be interesting people when they aren't in activist mode.

WCU is preaching the basic gospel message! First they tell a sinner he or she is sinning, then tell them that they can be saved through Jesus Christ.

When a person is confronted with their sin, the sinner within them will react defensively, but Christians shouldn't stop confronting sin just because it makes another person uncomfortable. That uncomfortableness is what drives a sinner to Christ!

I agree.
This sort of approach that singles out specific groups of people to call "sinners" tends to drive people away from Christ.

There is nothing wrong with calling sin, sin, but the truth is ALL are sinners and need Christ.
Not just homosexuals.

you must be joking.

There is no middle ground.

It either acceptable or unacceptable.

It USED to be a PRIVATE issue best left in PRIVATE lives, but now we have entered the realm of public endorsement via judicial fiat. The middle ground is gone.

Even civil unions are no longer a viable compromise. (especially since cheep cohabitation agreements have become more well known and available by form services) States are no including civil union prohibitions because judges have expressed their intentions to bypass Marriage Amendments by simply making marriage without the "m" word, marriage lite.

If anything, the anti-homosexual debate has been left to the religious realm too long and the secular arguments have not been provactive enough.

You'd prefer that they put the Light under a bushel? "Go forth and spread the good news to all nations." Remember who said that? And I suppose St. Paul would have been better off staying at home in Tarsus, too, eh? He got beaten to within an inch of his life for saying unpopular things to the wrong people.

I talk to some of them on another discussion group, and they get extremely angry if you try to persuade them that their lifesyle is wrong.

Their reaction is almost identical to the reaction I've experienced when you try to convince an alcoholic friend that they need to stop drinking. Sometimes, confrontation is needed to break someone out of self-destructive behavior.

Many of them feel like the minority group that used to get called the n-word every day.
This comparison is vile and GRAVELY insulting to blacks.

As long as the "homosexual" agenda is shoved in our face and rammed down our throats everyday on TV, on the radio, in politics, in obscene street demonstrations, and in schools; then what these Christian men did is not too "provacative". What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Trying to lead homosexuals out of their sin is not provicative, it's the most compassionate thing you can do.

I don't know where to start!

The gosepl is INHERENTLY "offensive" because it forces people to look at their sin, recognize it for what it is, and turn from it.

You can't get the gospel message across WITHOUT offending people...

Jesus went door to door, preaching his message. And He commanded that his followers go into all the world, preaching the gospel.
