--- Activist: Assault on Christians Exposes Homosexual Movements Violent Heart By Allie Martin March 4, 2005
Police in one Wisconsin city are being asked to look into the alleged assault of two Christians who claim they were attacked while sharing a biblical message about homosexuality.
Earlier this week, two member of Wisconsin Christians United (WCU) were in Burlington distributing a brochure titled "Homosexuality: The Truth." After leaving literature at homes throughout the city, the pair stood on a busy street, holding signs which read "Homosexuality is Sin" and "Christ Can Set You Free."
After a short time, a car with two individuals stopped near the picketers. According to eyewitnesses, one of the car's occupants approached the picketers yelling obscenities. Then the man allegedly began assaulting the Christians. Ralph Ovadal, director of WCU, says this is not the first time his group has seen what he calls "this very, very violent heart of the homosexual movement." Despite the ugliness of that exhibition, he feels there is a certain benefit to be gained from such confrontations.
"There's an awful lot of people that are deceiving themselves," Ovadal says, "thinking [that] on this particular issue we can strike a happy balance, and we can coexist with both sides in this thing, and we can all be happy and just get on with life -- and it's just not true."
According to the Wisconsin pro-family leader, such intolerant reactions to Christian expressions are common. "We hear it over and over and over," he says, "that our speech is not legitimate, it incites, it's something that's violent in and of itself, and, if we insist on continuing to preach what we preach. we should be put in jail."
Still, Ovadal says, in many such confrontations, the Christians have encountered fair-minded and dutiful law-enforcement officials. "I will say this -- in Burlington, as in so many other places, we met some very good police officers ... some very godly police officers out there, and they did their job," he notes. "They were upset by what happened, and we're hoping that their eyes were opened as well to what's going on in our culture."
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the Burlington assault, and Ovadal says police are investigating the altercation. Despite that incident, the WCU leader says members of his group will soon be back in Burlington, handing out more literature.

Thanks for the link...lots of info I was unaware of.
Thank you for your post. Obviously, I'm from Wisconsin, and this is the first I heard of this story. The media is so liberal here, especially in Milwaukee. If only those homos knew what they were giving up just for their sexual preference. I commend the Christian group, they were only doing what they are supposed to be doing - being fishers of men. It's not hate, rather compassion, that this group is out there. As far as I'm concerned, leading someone to Jesus Christ and eternal life from sin and damnation is the same as saving someone from a burning car.
There is a saying, "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread." I learned that the hard way about some things.
By the way, why did Lot go to Sodom? I don't feel like looking it up. I went and checked your other bible citations. Was it to preach?
First of all the Pharisees were NOT going to stone her.
Under Roman law they had no authority to impose the death penalty on anyone.
They brought her before Jesus to test Him when it came to the law of Moses. They were trying to entrap Him.
Secondly nowhere does the passage say the adulteress repented.
Jesus just said because there was nobody left there to condemn her,(He shamed them and they left) neither would He.
It doesn't say she repented and so Jesus forgave her.
The larger message of this passage was about the hypocrisy of the Pharisees who thought they were holy enough to run around pointing their fat fingers at "sinners" they were good enough to condemn in God's name.
If I have then I apologize.
I thought you were defending the actions of the people in the article who certainly are singling out one group of sinners as worse than others.
So you agree that these people are probably misguided in their "homosexuals go to hell" approach to evangelism?
I was with you until this statement. Scripture is clear and unambiguous.
Sure you do.
0When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her,[a] "Woman, where are those accusers of yours?[b] Has no one condemned you?"
11She said, "No one, Lord."
And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and[c] sin no more."
12Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
I meant it was my opinion according to my understanding of my religion. That doesn't necessarily mean it is right 100% of the time. No two people on the planet agree exactly on all points just exactly what the Christian religion is about. The last day they were in 100% agreement was on the Day of Pentecost. Then the disputes began. The bible has a fairly good record of disagreements among the apostles themselves.
Thank you. These are the passages I was refering to.
How so? You don't even know me.
you must be joking.
There is no middle ground.
It either acceptable or unacceptable.
It USED to be a PRIVATE issue best left in PRIVATE lives, but now we have entered the realm of public endorsement via judicial fiat. The middle ground is gone.
Even civil unions are no longer a viable compromise. (especially since cheep cohabitation agreements have become more well known and available by form services) States are no including civil union prohibitions because judges have expressed their intentions to bypass Marriage Amendments by simply making marriage without the "m" word, marriage lite.
If anything, the anti-homosexual debate has been left to the religious realm too long and the secular arguments have not been provactive enough.
Well, first off you are calling many on here for their sins. Second, if someone abused your children you would confront them on thier sins. What you mean to say is there are some sins that you don't feel comfortable confronting others on.
Did you miss the "go an sin no more" line ?
Every MSM network show with a homosexual character or pro-homo reference has been INSIDE your home to indoctrinate you and yours to the touchy feely pro-homosexual mindset.
That said, the bible has consistently spoke against fornication. From the time of Noah, the Mosaic Covenant, Peter in Acts and Jesus. Its really no debatable. The debate is over whether we have continuing revelation.
Whom did I call here for their sin(s)? I suppose disagreeing could be sinful in some peoples' opinions.
I can't remember confronting anyone about abusing my children. I probably should have a couple of people in retrospect, but I grew up in a different era where children were more harshly dealt with than they are now and had a few doses of it myself. I only remember one person trying to get my daughter to go with him and his girlfriend to a titty bar. I thought it over for a couple of days and went down and read him the riot act. There was no preaching or appeal to any bible verse involved. I lost my temper. Never repented that one. Never will. It sure cleared the air on that issue.
Now are you going to judge me and call me on my sin of losing my temper?
Told you.
No. Just that you will object to the some sins of others and some you won't.
