What is the most awesomely bad love song ever? The one that makes you cringe when you hear it, but you just can't turn it off. What love song makes you shake your head, roll your eyes, laugh, gag, shed a tear, or just punch something because it's so horrendously great that you love to hate it. Or is it vice versa? VH1 is counting down the 40 Most Awesomely Bad Love Songs....The kind of songs that might end a relationship rather than enhance it. You get the drift.

Join us as we count down and celebrate fantastically cheesy lyrics, the best and worst metaphors, awkward and confusing themes, and of course, those strange, misguided flukes from our favorite artists, while our team of experts help explain why we've deemed these songs so (un)worthy. We've been covering our ears, shutting off the radio, and running from the room screaming for too long. It's time to ban these songs to our awesomely bad Hall of F(Sh)ame!

"Freddy and the Dreamers"

Unfortunately, I remember them quite clearly. They played their songs while spreading their arms and legs up in the air, kind of a forerunnor of the YMCA schtick.

Couldn't have been as bad as "Alone Again, Naturally" by Gilbert O'Sullivan, about the same time.

Sheesh, hide the vodka and pistols.

Talk about Depression City.

Wasn't it Pearl Jam who did the remake of "Last Kiss"? The only good thing they ever did, though the original is better.

Now that reminded me of Gary Lewis and the Playboys: This Diamond Ring, and Little Miss Go-Go.

I'll never know why our minds work the way they do...

"I'm Not Lisa"

Aaauuuugh!! I'm having a Post Traumatic Stress episode hearing that title! My aunt used to babysit for us when we were small, and she would make me call WLS and request it EVERY DAY!

I agree with you, but I always hated that song.

"Feelings" would give that song a run for its money, though.

"Alone Again, Naturally" and "My Ding-a-ling" are well up on my all-time terrible song list.

That was my second choice, after "Muskrat Love." It's a wnder we all didn't take an overdose of sleeping pills in the 70's. That is the most depressing song ever written, sung by a guy with a whiney voice.

Original song by Richard Berry...out in 1956...
There is an album put out by Rhino records,...that
has 12 versions of Louie Louie including the original
by Richard Berry...
It has a version done by a marching band...which was
used in I believe the first of the spoof detective
movies starring Leslie Nielsen....and had OJ in it...
