Always see as many movies as possible and decide what you think about them for yourself.
If CRITICS hate it, I try to see the movie.
If they RAVE about it, I won't waste the money.
"No, it doesn't promote euthanasia. "The Sea Inside" promotes euthanasia. "Million Dollar Baby" is just a chick, fight movie with a plot twist.
Always see as many movies as possible and decide what you think about them for yourself."
And the winner for most sobering, rational response is...Deb!
You mentined somewhere on this thread that you belong to the Academy.
I, as a homeschooling mom, do have a different view. I can see how being in the business, seeing as many movies as possible keeps you abreast of your profession. I avoid as many movies as possible. I don't want to spend that much money, we don't rent a lot of DVD's either. I only go when I can tell it will affirm and inspire my heart. If there are too many commericals pushing one movie, I go out of my way not to see it. I most certainly did not go to see "Million Dollar Baby".
I do not want to be preached at with my own money.
