Man kills his girlfriend in scuffle("sounded like somebody punching an uncooked roast beef")

Alfred B. Davis IV, 38, of Falls, hit his girlfriend twice at the home of her husband.

LAKE WINOLA – An argument about an automobile ended with a woman’s death early Tuesday morning.

Alfred B. Davis IV, 38, of Falls, has been charged with first degree murder, third degree murder and criminal homicide in the death of Donna Stout, his girlfriend, at the home of William G. Stout, the victim’s husband.

According to the affidavit and Wyoming County District Attorney George Skumanick Jr:

Davis placed a call to 911 from the Stout residence at 308 Mahon Ave at about 4:30 a.m. to report that he found Donna Stout on her stomach in a pool of blood and was performing CPR on her. Emergency workers determined she was dead upon their arrival. Davis first denied having anything to do with it before admitting he had struck her twice in the face during an argument. Officers were tipped off by Davis’ badly cut and bruised hand.

Davis said Stout fell and hit her head on a VCR after he hit her. The two were arguing about a vehicle owned by Donna Stout that Davis had driven into a ditch during Monday night’s snow storm. Davis told officers she struck him first and he was defending himself.

An autopsy conducted by Dr. Gary Ross in Scranton has concluded that Stout died from blunt force trauma to the head, and the manner of death was homicide.

The Stouts had been married for about 15 years, but Davis also stayed at the home at times, and Donna Stout sometimes lived at Davis’ home. State Police Lt. Frank Hacken said: “It appeared to be an open arrangement. The relationship appears to have had nothing to do with the argument.”

Witnesses interviewed by police said all three are heavy drinkers and Davis has been abusive towards Donna Stout in the past.

William Stout also told officers that Davis had beaten him badly in the past, and said he pretended to be asleep when he heard the two fighting in the den where he was laying.

“I heard Al hit her three times and it sounded like somebody punching an uncooked roast beef,” William Stout told officers.

Skumanick said no bail would be possible for Davis because he was charged with first-degree murder, and said Davis would be remanded to the Wyoming County Correctional Center.

Davis was arraigned by District Justice Patricia Robinson just after 10 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Good Lord! What a situation. It's no wonder the politicians think most of us aren't smart enough to run our own lives.

At some point in this thread, someone will come by and blame the victim for not driving carefully and forcing this guy to beat her up.

Like an uncooked roast beef? My word, the boy certainly has a way with words. Dreadful story. Ugh.

He has a way with words, but he doesn't have a way with people. How could this guy just lay there listening to his wife get beaten? Amazing. I wish he could be charged as an accessory some how for not coming to her aid. Davis must have had both of them in fear for their lives.

Maybe he didn't want to intervene...seeing as his wife was sleeping with this guy?

How can a perp be charged with three different degrees of intentional killing for one murder?

Did you watch O'Reilly last night? There was a guy from NJ that was beat up by a huge black man at a pizza place while the rest of the people in line watched. The attitude of "as long as it ain't me getting beat on" is prevalant in these United States.

Actually, I think the reporter was correct. A report in another local paper reported the 3 charges as well. Not sure how this can be.

Aren't there some states that have such a law?...about not coming to someone's aid when that someone is in trouble? Not "depraved indifference", it's more like a "good Samaritan" type law.

Anyone...

If it's uncooked it's not roasted, it's just beef.
