I agree, and then they load it up with big name stars and people will go see the movie just for them. It's sad.

Even though Mississippi Masala 1991 starring Denzel Washington was billed as a romantic-drama, it still had as a basic undertone, racial bigotry. The racial component was supposed to be the expulsion of Indian descent Ugandans by Idi Amin's thugocracy, but it came across as a sideways slant at bi-racial affairs in America. They didn't have to set the story in MS, it could just as well have been set in Detroit or Buffalo. But by placing it in MS, it was more racially tinged than it needed to be. I don't know if it came from a novel or not..........
