I want to see Dan Quayle run. He is a committed conservative and a good man. The MSM image is old and can easily be overcome by hitting the ground running with his thorough, committed agenda.
If the economy keeps growing, shrinking the deficit, and the Middle East keeps moving forward, it could work. Look at how Bloomberg became mayor. Republicans viewed him as a RINO, Democrats viewed him as a Republican. He won simply because he was Rudy's pick.
It is not possible to "rip McCain a new one"
He IS one.
Let me ask ... isnt this the same McCAIN that said hillary would make a great president? You think on that long flight back from the middle east Hillary asked McCain to talk up a weak candidate?? .....
While I'd like to see Jeb as POTUS, I'm not sure the country would survive a McCain term.
Posturing by McCain to set the framework for his real goal -- McCain '08
Why wouldn't he suggest Jeb. As much as I like the guy, I don't think he would have a chance which is probably why McCain brought up his name. I think he would rather see hillary in office.
Bush/Cheney 2008
Jeb/Lynn
I happen to like Jeb Bush a lot but when I think about it, nothing where I lived for nearly 20 years improved under him. Well, I think he did away with auto exhaust emissions testing, which was a joke. But the core of the state is still rotten.
Maybe.
I find it suspicious that McCain comes out for a Bush. It's been my thinking he's not too fond of the family.
Anyway, I like Jeb. I like G.W. better. If Jeb wanted to run I'd give consideration since I do NOT support this fanciful notion that we have a "dynasty" when these people are freely elected. That said, he isn't running. I wish people would take him at his word.
I suspect mcCain does take him at his word and wanted to buy points by suggesting a Republican the base likes to balance out his statement about Hillary. meaningless pandering since everyone knows Jeb isn't running, and therefore Jeb is of no threat to McCain's intentions to run.
"If you're looking at dynasties, and by the way I'm a great admirer of Governor Bush..."
Whatever, if that's not a jab, I don't know what one is.
Ugh. Then that means I don't want Jeb. Not that I did in the first place.
Just saw that. I am thinking that I would rather it not be another Bush. I love the two we already elected as president, but I don't think I would be comfortable with a third Bush as pres. I don't know why. Just doesn't sound right. How about Bill Frist or Michael Steele????? or Condi????
